I love UNT! I have had nothing but positive experiences from this school year so far. I really like the fact the UNT is so diverse, and accepting. Anyone can really find a place to fit in at this school. I think my only complaint would be the lack of things to do in Denton. Yes, Denton does have plenty of bars, and clubs, but if you are under the age of 21 there isn't really much to do unless you drive 45 minutes to Dallas.

I personally love the University of North Texas because of how well the administration involves the UNT students. I feel like they are always asking for the student's input on ways to improve the campus. I feel that students have a voice in the what they want their tuition to go towards. For example, my email is filled with surveys and questionnaires on what I would like to eat in the cafeterias, and how should the libraries be improved, and what would I like to be in the University Union, which is one of the main buildings on campus that houses the food court, campus book store, and many organizational departments.

Texas is among the top states in America. DFW is one of the best cities in Texas, and UNT is the largest University in DFW. Denton has grown 40{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} over the last decade

The best thing about UNT is the diversity. We have a crap ton of international students which being an international studies major I would automatically be biased to love. But besides the foreign students UNT offers every subgroup and click of people imaginable. From your typical party greeks to the funky hipsters to your super intelligent nerdy kid to the social outcast.
UNT for me is too small, but I tend to like big things, no homo... (Speaking of, if you're homosexual, we have many gay oriented groups and are known for a great acceptance of the gay community, and to be honest, no one cares if you're gay here. Seriously.)
But most people say UNT is just the right size, but I love everything to constantly be busy and full of hustle and bustle, and with being a commuter school, that isn't always the case. But UNT is growing and so is the turn away from being a commuter school. More and more people are living on campus and it's gaining more prestige academically so it's bound to attract people who live further away.
I spend most of my time at UNT in the cafeteria because I need to eat to survive. But I also spend a great deal at the gym, which everyone loves going to the gym here just about because it's brand new, big, nice and busy. There's TVs on every treadmill, ladders, etc, every walking/running machine so you can be lazy and watch TV while burning calories. What's better than that? It defiantly has the nicest gym of ANY university I've ever toured (all of them). Also, if you're an incoming freshman, stay in Kerr Hall, it's the biggest, loudest, funnest dorm at UNT. If you're the antisocial type, go to traditions. If you're an upper class man and need quiet study time, go to Legends.
UNT is a college town, it's very college friendly and you see a lot of college kids everywhere, but it also feels just like living in your average suburb, yet a little bit trashier... It's not big on school spirit, which everyone wishes there was more of, but we don't have any school teams to really be proud of at this moment besides a decent girls soccer team.
BUUUT we did build a pretty awesome new football stadium, got a new "okay" coach, no one special, but an improvement and picked up some somewhat better talent. So everyone is hoping that will turn our football program around. As for basketball, a bit better than our football team, last year they made it to the big NCAA tournament, and lost. But again, we recently picked up some all-star and great local players to improve our team for next year and hopefully in 2 years the program will be GOOD- GOOD not just decent.

EVERY THIng I WOULD CHANGE!!! this place is nothing more than a place for parents to waste money. all they do here is take your money every chance they get... every year they want more, and they never deliver. this place sucks... at this point i know your wondering well if its as bad as you say it is why are you still there? well the answer to that is this is the first university in the nation to offer a degree in my field thus they have the most exp teaching it and are the highest qualified. thats it ... thats the only reason why im still going to this place.

UNT is such a fun, awesome school. Denton is a wonderful college town and everyone is so friendly! The town supports UNT students and it's a great feeling. The size is big but not too big. I've been in classes where there are 200 students, yet I have had many where there are only 20. A lot of students hang out off of campus, since it is a big commuter school. The downtown historical square in Denton has 24-hour coffee shops and homemade ice cream so a lot of people hang out there. When I tell people I go to UNT they say, "Oh, couldn't get into a better school?" This is such a horrible stereotype of UNT. It is a very good school and I actually transferred here from a different university and I'm so much happier. UNT is rated top in the nation for several majors and although it is a commuter school and a lot of people attend after they finish their basics at a community college, the standards are very high and everyone is very insightful and smart. I actually learn when I go to class, something I can't say about every school. There isn't a lot of controversy on campus. The liberal atmosphere and students are very laid-back. People do their own thing and no one downs them for it. Parking is a problem sometimes and people get mad about it, but that's a problem at other schools too. There isn't a lot of school pride and that is one thing I wish there was more of. Many people live far away so they come to campus, go to class and then leave. We don't have a great football team so attendance at the games is small, but we have a new coach and everyone is hopeful that the program will turn around. Maybe spirit will increase soon. We have a homecoming bonfire every year and that's a lot of fun. Fry Street was a big part of the fun of UNT and Denton and a big developer from Houston has come in and ripped the historical buildings town to put in a CVS, Starbucks and other commercial chain stores. The thing I love about UNT is that the students don't want that. We want the 80-year-old buildings and the Tomato, a pizza joint only in Denton. We don't want to be like everyone else, and students here love to protest wrongdoings. When they tore down buildings, we protested outside and signed petitions. That's one thing you'll find at UNT that other schools don't have---students with backbones and opinions.

I'm in the MBA program and very dissapointed about the fact that there is no structure to it. Professors and advisors don't encourage or help you get internships. They come and teach their class and their done. Most MBA programs work with professors to make sure that they communicate to students the importance of an internship, of getting a job, of networkin. In fact, most MBA programs create a networking environment so students develop strong relationships.
Also, professors don't encourage us to participate in any school activities. The school should not take for granted the value of making the members of an organization feel part of it.

When I first started looking at colleges UNT was my last choice, I actually had never even heard of the school. I was dead set on another school but at the last minute decided on UNT. I was sure I was going to hate it and planned on transferring come 2008's fall semester. North Texas is one of those schools that isn't to big or to small, its just the right size. Because we are a big commuter school those of us that live on campus are a pretty tight knit group. Pride day Fridays are AMAZING, walking to class Friday afternoons the sea of green covering campus is great. We may not win every football game but the Mean Green Pride is outstanding. Post game at Fry Street keeps everything fun win or lose. Our faculty and staff is one of a kind, of the 5 schools I toured in high school North Texas was the only one that took time to make sure I had what I needed to succeed and have a great experience during college. At least once a semester our President has a big open discussion with all the students. She sits and listens to our opinions and concerns. This year one thing we as the student body wanted to see changed was the lack of bike racks around campus. Those opinions were voiced, our president heard them and come Spring semester we had new and more bike racks.
