If I could travel back in time to when I was in highschool I would tell my self to stay focused on my long term goals. It is much easier to transition to college from highschool then it is to transition from working life to college. I would emphasize that maximizing my time is important because when time passes it is lost for good. I am happy with where I am in my life; however, if given the opportunity I would have stayed focused when I was younger. Now I understand the economic benefits of attending college early. I would tell myself to ignore the distractions. The girls, alcohol, and good times will be there when you push through school. Unless he or she is the one then your education should be top priority.

I did not take college seriously as a senior. I thought I would take a year off and then go to community college. I graduated in 2003 and have yet to obtain a degree. I would tell myself to take it seriously and apply for good schools and find out all the information I could about the college process. I would tell myself to apply for a ton of scholorships because as a senior I had no clue how much college would really cost me. I would also tell myself to think about the future and what if I didn't always have the good stable job that I had when I was a senior. What if I got laid off and really couldn't afford to pay for college. When I was a senior if I knew that I would not be able to get an education due to lack of money I would have done everything possible to get better grades and strive for scholorships to better schools. If I could go back in time and talk to my old self knowing what I know now, I would have pushed myself so much harder.

I know what I know now I have made the right decision. It has been a long road to finally have goals and many of them. Keep on going to succeed, get the most of college, be strong and never, never give up. You have so many goals to in life. There are so many more to obtain. The road is a long road and to be continuing on that road you will have many bumps to get over them. You have to strive to achieve those many goals. Keep learning, keep working hard and obtain those goals you have been wanting to make for a very long time. The reason for continuing in that direction is because you will finally achieve the destination you have been searching for for most of your life. You have to be safe and strong and reach for the stars. Continue to go in the path where you have always wanted to be. This is something you have always wanted all your life, so keep on doing this to get to that place where you will be in your future. From high school graduation and then college, your life will change so much, forever.

If I could go back to when I was a senior in high school , I would make more time for looking into colleges and really look into the school and see everything that it had to offer. I would tell myself that living on your own is not all that its cracked up to be. I would tell myself that hard work is so important and that we need to take school work very seriously. The hard work that is ahead of you is something that you will never experience and it all will be worth it when you are done with schoo. The things that you think are importnat now really do not mater at all and what matters is your future. School is so important and if you put more effort into your school work and less into your social life you will be much more rewarded in the long run. Living on your own and getting to make every life choice by yourself hard. Knowbody tells you to study more or to look over your notes or to even go to class you have to learn the hard way that the choices you make will affect you.

I would tell myself to make absolutely certain that I was in the field that I really wanted to be in, not the field that I felt that others wanted me to be in. I would tell myself to stay in school, study every day and make sure that I got the grades that I know I can get. I know though that I would never listen to myself, so it really wouldn't make much of a difference, but I'd have to try anyhow. Mostly I'd be freaked out that I was there from the future talking to myself.

Life is about moving forward. Don't think about conquering the mountain, just put one foot in front of the other and you will reach your destination.

Budget your time wisely and make education the main priority. Making the transition was not that difficult for me so I would just tell myself to be really organized and save all the money I could for special books, software, etc.

Don't rush yourself or fill your plate too full. Its important that you pace yourself and make sure that you are able to handle the load. Sometimes a slow start give you an edge. Remember, slow and steady wins the race. And even though its important to have fun, you have to make time for your studies also.

Taking time off between high school and college to work in the real world is one of the best choices that a person can make, as it focuses you on the goals and responsibilities of life. While high school is about showing that you learned something, college is about showing that you can find the answers and back up your opinions with credible sources. In other words, high school is about learning, college is about thinking.
