It's a huge inexespensive public school that is fun and familiar to me. Of course, that's not always desireable.

Lynda

It gives the small town feeling while still being in the center of a busy city.

Just a couple of final thoughts. Liberalism is a mental disorder and being polical correctness will weaken our constitution and our way of life. Uphold US Constitution. Also the only real racism I saw in most of the school I went to is the hatred that blacks have on whites. Last is affirmative action is bullshit.

I loved UW. I had a great experience, and I hope to continue growing Husky Pride by attending grad school at UW. SAFETY: Safety has become more of a concern lately, but there's not much to worry about if you take advantage of services like the NightRide and NightWalk and avoid unsafe situations. The services are there to be used and you won't look like an idiot for using them now that crime rates are going up. (Don't panic: UW is still VERY safe, but I don't want to lie and pretend the rates of theft and armed robbery aren't going up slightly.)

It's a fabulous school, very challenging but definitely worth it. Gives you an incredible education and it's a lot of fun!

This UW is like a small city within a city. It has that sort of impersonal vibe, usually, when you're walking through crowds on campus. Despite that, I really enjoy going to school here and I'm glad that I ultimately decided against some of the out-of-state-schools I was accepted at. One of the big perks of life on campus is the flora and fauna (it's always fun to stop for a second on the way to class and watch a squirrel try to eat an apple core that's nearly as large as him); this is a beautiful setting. As an undergrad student, you will probably feel that your only purpose at UW is to pay tuition as you are being herded through the system; it is the grad students who receive most of the support and attention. But once you get used to it, and enroll in higher level classes, you'll discover that what you think matters, too. Ultimately, I recommend the UW to students who want to achieve something, anything at all...
