There are so many people, it is difficult to get into classes, and some classes are more difficult than the amount of credit received.

It is difficult to get into the classes you need and you never know if your professors and TAs will be excellent or horrible teachers! Also, there are a lot of cliques on campus and it is very large making it hard to make friends.

I feel that the worst thing about UW was the student governement. While not an important issue to many people, I was consistently unimpressed with their lack of actions and results on issues that students were very passionate about. Had there been no student government, I feel that most things would have been the same. I expect a student governement to make positive changes for those enrolled, not be happy simply having a role.

Apartment prices. They are outlandish. The weather during the winter months. It's the worst.

the lack of diversity within the student population

The schol is so diverse, it can be hard to focus on the area you are intrested in without getting distracted by the social activities or even coursework outside of the major.

How much alcohol impacts social life and stuff because that's sending the wrong message to people, especially underclassmen.

Probably the lack of diversity - it is a great school and I absolutely love it but it is wrong that mostly all of the minorities on campus are on sports teams and have been recruited. We need more diversity!

Sometimes it seems to focus more on the sporting events when it comes to the funding instead of the school bulidings.

Lack of career placement for east coast students

I wouldn't say that there is a worst thing, unless you consider having too much fun a bad thing.

Unfortunately, our school has been in the limelight quite a bit for alcohol related incidents. I feel this negative attention puts people's focus on the party reputation our school has earned rather than all of its various positive attributes such as its rigorous academic curriculum, unlimited club opportunities, and global outlook.

If someone thinks there is absolute truth, they are considered intolerant. But people are intolerant of people who believe in absolute truth.

Difficult classes

One of the down falls is that that campus is large. In winter when it gets very cold and snowy its not pleasant to walk to the other side of campus.

The worst thing about Madison is the feeling of hostility between coasties and people from the midwest.

I consider the worst thing at UW-Madison is sometimes the professors that are ten-yeared aren't very good at explaining to students, and often times TA's especially in the math and sciences don't speak english and so it makes it so that the main way to succeed is by self-teaching. Those that don't learn well by themselves may be at a disadvantage at certain times.
