It has shown me that your grades and your look on things can be affected by the people you associate with while in and out of school. So the things I try to do is to space my self from the people who are bad influences now and in the futrue.

Going into college is like living in a new world. Everything around changes just like the way your high school teachers mention. The college experience can be an amazing part of your life. I believe everyone should go throught the college experience atleast one point in their life. I would considered it part of growing up and maturing. College to me was an experince that open my eyes to new ways of responsibilities, way of living, sociality, and balancing time. the resposibility became when i moved out my parents house and started to live on campus. Realizing that I was on my own came with great responsibilty to take caer of myself. The way of lving came with what I needed to buy in order to live like when I was living with my parents. When your in college your going to meet new people and that's what I did and it help me to become more socialble . Anther important aspect in college is knowing how to manage your time. Without it your going to struggle your way through college. Overall college is valuable to attend because it thought me those great characteristics about life itself

Going to school keeps me out of trouble. i do not have any lids of my own right at the moment. before i even think about that i have to get a cheer and settle myself and get a good education. i want to make my family proud and i also want to tell them that bring me to america to become a better person was not a waist of money. so that is why i love going to school more than anything. my family at the moment does not have the money that i need to go to school so i look for scholarships that will help make my dreams come true. and winning this scholar will help my dream a step closer. thank you so much and have a wounderful day.

College has given me the tools I need to enrich my quality of life. It has assisted me in gaining valuable experience in my fields of study and has allowed me to further my skills and polish my intellect. I was taught how to analyze information appropriately and efficiently; how to think critically and analytically in order to solve various problems; how to open my mind to different people, cultures, views, and opinions; how to think outside the box even in an area so enclosed in it; and how to deal with the expenses and everyday hassles of adult life in the real world. My experiences in a university have not always been positive, but the knowledge I've obtained has been timely and has had a profound effect on me.

I've learned a lot about responsibility. I've learned that I need to be accountable to myself. I'm not going to have someone to hold my hand and help me every day. I need to look out after myself and do what I know I need to do. I've also learned that in order to suceed in my choosen profession, (Art and Visual Communication) I need to constantly practice. Every day I try to improve my work, and also myself. The better a person I can be, the more likely someone will want me to work for them. No one wants to hire a bum.

My college experience has been full of new opportunities and experiences. I have met new people, tried new things, and found out so much about myself than I ever thought possible. The freedom is great but I've also learned how to take responsibility for myself. Thanks to a certain class at my University, I have discovered what my values are and how to find and create the best person I can be. New people have taught me new views on the world and has made me realize how much is out their for all of us to discover. I wouldn't change my college experience for anything.

Being involved in college has made me realize that the world is a serious place that challenges you and pushes you to succeeded in anything you put your mind to. I have had the opportunity to attend college where my knowledge has been constantly challenged resulting, in good grades and a deeper range of knowledge that has brought me to a better understanding of my major and closer to my dream of graduating with an associates degree in engineering.

College has given me exposure to a diversity of ideals that otherwise would take many years of life experience to acquire. College has provided me critical thinking skills necessary for dynamic decision making. I have much more to offer my community with broader skills, perspectives, respect and appreciation. I am able to better teach my own children and recognize their talents and educational needs. My life is deeply enriched because I have an advanced education. I have a sense of empowerment I did not know before, and a sense of duty to give back to the world. I am more appreciative and aware of the value of democracy and free society. Because of college I possess a better appreciation for my own duty to my world. I have a far greater understanding of the need for peace, tolerance, literacy and personal responsibility because of all that I have been allowed to learn in college. I have a passion to help where I can because I better understand how much I can do and how important an individual can be. I have an intense passion to live abroad, contribute to the improvement of conditions of living, democracy and promotion of peace.

Like most students who choose to attend college, I have gotten more out of my experience there than I had initially expected. I chose to play soccer in college, because of my school's great records and championships, but what I did not expect, was the unimaginable friendships and bonds that were forged between my teamates and myself. My college experience has allowed me to meet and acquire some of the greatest freindships imaginable, and that will no doubt continue, long after season ends. The dedication, sacrifices, and hard work that came along with being on a nationally ranked team may have been difficult at times, but it has taught me the true meaning of responsibility, and how to efficiently balance school, soccer, and work all at once. Through the academics at my college, I have gained more knowledge of the world around me, as well as more about myself, leading me towards my current major and future career as a professor. The college experience gained at Cypress both athletically as well as academically, has allowed me to prepare for the future as well as aquire a sense of dedication and understanding that could not have been found anywhere else.

The things that I have gotten most out of my college experience is to know that knowledge and a degree is not something to take for granted. In addition to school, I have also worked full time for the past 12 years and have just been let go. With my education and still no degree, I only have the knowledge to do what I have been for the past years. I am over qualified to do the job I was but with no degree, I am under qualified to do anything else except work in a retail store. My degree will prepare me for a licence that will allow me to find employment anywhere. The value for me is an end to a stable job that will allow me to finally get my life on track.

College has been a completely new experience for me. I lived each day for my experiences in high school, and waking up one day attending a university was a big reality check. I was actually an adult, living on my own, and completely lost. However, I soon found it wasn't as hard as it seemed. Everyone around me was in the same boat, and we came to rely on each other for support. Much to my surprise, I actually passed my classes! The next semester only got better. I have loved going to school, and can't wait to finish my education so I can make my mark on the world. The time spent this past year and a half have been truly invaluable.

What have you gotten out of your college experience and why has is been valuable to attend?
Not knowing anything about the world was a big shock to me. Here I was, walking into college thinking I knew how everything worked, only to see that the world was a lot different. College was a great way to get out into the world in a safe environment to see, explore and try out the world before jumping into adult life. All the knowledge I received at school so far I have applied to my life.
Education is important for a person's growth and future accomplishments. If a person does not seek for the knowledge of the world they will not grow into the world in which they live. College education keeps a person learning as the world grows and changes. If we do not learn from our education we do not grow to our ultimate abilities. Understanding the need for a college education makes me a great student for life.

Going to college has taught me quite a few essential life experiences. Being a new student with no other friends attending, going to college has taught me how to interact with different people that you do not know at all. College is also teaching me to study effectively. I have been taught that during college, you are supposed to study for two hours for each hour you are in class. Because of that formula, study has become more time consuming, and thus giving me more information to study. College has also taught me to manange my time better. With studying and getting to class on time, it is difficult to find time to do other things. But, since I have the desire to do well in college, I have found time to be with friends and study and get to class.

Out of my college experience I have really gained a knowledge of what it is like to be an adult. I really had to grow up and learn that items and life do not get handed to you wrapped up nicely in a gift box. I had to work full-time while attending my college full-time. I had the great responsiblity of taking care of myself (cooking, cleaning, etc . . .) and learning to pay my bills on time. Mthat my family lives 2,000 miles away in PA. It has been a great and valuable experience because I learned a few life lessons that I truly cherish and will have for the rest of my life. My parents are not always going to be there at the drop of a dime when I sometimes need them and so I had to learn

Before entering College, I heard many comments ranging from college being the best experience throughout the student's educational years to college being just a place to gain knowledge. As a high school student, I could not fully comprehend what these college students meant until I became a freshman in college and honestly...even if someone were to pay me a million dollars to go back to high school, I would not accept their offer. College is the four year or more in a person's lifetime that that person gains knowledges and life changing experiences. Before entering college, I thought I was a mature young lady who knew a hand full of life morals. However, when I entered college, I found that I have a lot more to learn about myself, about life, and about dreams. As for now I have learned there are many ways to Ace a class and a person has to open up in order for others to comfortably approach you. College teaches a person about independence, hard work, and sky is the limit. All in all, missing college is not just missing further knowledge, but missing the life lessons need for the Real World.

Originally I went to school so that I could become a cosmetologist, but decided that it would be more advantageous of me to just do my general studies. I alway go back to what I originally wanted to do, media arts. CNM has allowed be to afford to go to college, and be able to do a program that will allow me to transfer to a university. New Mexico has a great program called the lotterly scholarship, and it pays for most of my school, which is a fantastic opportunity for me. Going to school has taught me that there are all types of people who attend school, and now I have the opportunity to really get to meet the people that have the same interests of me. The classes are good, and the fact that they are completely transferrable really allows me to reach for my goals. It's a great enviroment to mature, and strive in. The classes are small, people are helpful, and the campus isn't outrageously huge. I really appreciate college and the experiences that it has provided for me, and I know that I will always be able to succeed in my dreams.

So far, in my limited college experience, I have learned a lot about how the world works. I have learned a great deal from my classes, particularly specific skills that will help me in my future career. It has been very valuable in helping me figure out what it is I want to do with my life once I'm done with school, and with helping me grow up.
Nathan
I am the first person in my family. I can already see how it is enricher my life and helping me to achieve my goals.

I get the actually feeling of being a college student and adult. Ready to take on the world!

I have learned a lot about who I am and what I can and need to accomplish in my life. While in the college I attanded before UVU, I did not take my attendence seriously and it refected in the work that I did. Then I decided to move to Utah and attend UVU and I began to see the potential my life has. I now know that I have limitless potential and it all depends on what I choose to do. I can see what my life would be like without an education and I have determined that I can not fail in my goals. I have learned many of my strenghts as well as my weaknesses through my schooling as well. Without the experience that I have gained through my education, I do not want to imagine where I would be in my life. I now have a brighter outlook on my future and that I can and will be a benefit to thse around me and to the world.
