The most frustrating thing about VCU is its extremely high number of students! Because there are so many students here, everything is on a "first come, first serve" basis.

The most frustrating thing to me about my school is learning how to use your time wisely. There is so much work that is in need to be done. There is also a lot of other things to do that might interfere, even if they are school related. If you are one of the many like myself who are used to not working hard but breezing through class and partying more, then you would be in for a surprise because focus is definitely a necessity.

The university I attend does not gurantee upper classmen housing; after freshman year it is up to the students to find their own housing if there is not enough housing left for them. There are many off-campus housing nearby, however, many of them are just too expensive for a college student . I wish there was something the university could do to make it a little less stressful on the students when it comes to housing.

The single, most frustrating thing about VCU is the lack of communication between faculty and staff, especially those involved in student advising. Sometimes, the result of this miscommunication is being completely forgotten, usually during your time of need. I feel that this is mostly due to the constant expansion and referbishing of the university's services and will diminish in the coming years with the integration of more stable types of communication.

Not being able to recieve the help and guidance needed when it comes to scheduleing and interships

Many of the classes hold several hundred students. Financial Aid office has many issues/problems when dealing with students.

The most frustrating thing about my school is the process for housing. You get a lottery number and a certain time you can sign up for housing but my lottery number was very high so I did not get housing and I have to look for an apartment and pay for my own schooling starting next year.
Nicole
The most frustrating aspect about VCU was the advising for students. I often had to figure out which courses to take on my own and it was imperative to pay close attention to what courses were needed in order to graduate. I found that the advisors at my school were not as fully trained as they should have for their position.

The most frustrating thing here is our financial aid office, there is always a long wait, and you can barely reach your financial counselor. Most counter representatives seem to lack knowledge about important issues. However our school has recently expanded our office and student accounting to be more efficient and helpful, so change is coming.

the fact that if you want to get anywhere you have to walk the streets with thousands of other people through the city.

There is a lack of professors, so some classes fill up before you are able to register which causes you to have to wait an extra semester to take that course.

The food the school provides isn't the greatest thing in the world, sometimes it doesn't settle well with me. At the same time location of the school fixes the problem. Restuarants are located everywhere but you have to deal out your own money. That brings up another issue the dining plan is expensive and sometimes I alittle cheated for the money I'm paying. You get a set number of meal blocks and if you don't use them all they don't get transfered.

The most frustrating thing about my school is it's in the city. By being in the city, there are many homeless people standing around wanting money. Each day when I walk arounf the school campus from the parking deck, I pass by at least two homeless people holding signs, and not all of them are friendly. One guy actually threaten our group by saying, "Each one of you have nothin." So it almost seems as if it is not safe sometimes when walking through the streets on campus.

Some of the class sizes are just too much! 120-150 kids at some times. I prefer the more teacher/student focused classes.

The most frustrating thing about my school is the financial aid requirements. I didn't know that there was a maximum amount financial aid that you could receive. As a result, my financial aid was cancelled because I had not graduated within 150{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of credit hours attempted. I appealled it and my aid was reinstated.

The most frustraing thing about Virginia Comonwealth University (VCU) is the unemployment and homeless rate. The residents who are not associated with the school are losing there jobs which has made homelessness increase. Along with the homelessness rates increasing, crime rates are high in the city of Richmond and they seem to steadily increase. The city is very beautiful, but when one is living off-campus, there is a feeling of being unsafe.

I have had a hard time adjusting to the weather.

I can't think of anything frustrating about my school.
