Virginia State University Top Questions

I do not start school until August 9 so I really do not knot yet.

The volunteering opportunities and the honors program have very engaging activities and are beneficial to the community.

At Virginia State University, you experience a good feel. This college has an enviroment of good people who kind of want some of the same things out of life. Each and every student here seems to have there head in the right place and want to be successful. One thing I notice about my school is that we all stick together and if one see's that the other is falling, you can guarantee someone will be there to pick you back up. We are all like one big family!

Upgrade of Dorms. Rated Top Ten among HBCU's (Historically Black Colleges and Universitis). Most of the students are very friendly, you just have to speak. Accredited Nursing program (Did not have when I attended)

The best thing baout my school is its friendly faculty and community.

Virginia State is a very well rounded school and family oriented.

the best thing about my school is that they have research centers and they have hands-on staff. and the they have a 24 hour library.

The best thing about my school is the family environment that you feel from the first day you step on campus. The teacher are there to support you with your studies and life as a college freshman, it gives you a sense that you can be comfortable here even through you are 1000 miles away from school. At most university the Greek letter organizations act as if they are better than everyone else but that?s not the case at my college because the Greeks are welcoming to the freshman and this is why I love my college.

The atmosphere everyone is so nice and friendly

I consider the best thing about my school is the quality education. I feel like the knowledge given to the students really prepares us for our future endeavors.

The best thing about the school would be the social life, activities and the people are very friendly also helpful in the best way they can help.

The family environment

Old Dominion University is situated in an urban environment, there are activities a student can choose to participate in like going to clubs, concerts and sports venues. The school offers a bus pass to students not having personal transportation for and at a low price. Living in the city presents the opputunity of jobs and internships. Students also have the oppurtunity of living off campus in houses or apartments.

The dorm sitautions allow you to meet friends your age, and to associate with those that are like you gender wise, and age wise.

The best thing about my school would have to be the small size classes ,because it was easier for our professors to know us by a first name basis.

The best thing about my school would be the social interaction. most of the time there is nothing for students to do, so they have house partys. which most studentts attend to get away from the day to day depression.

The best thing about Virginia State University is the feeling of having a home away from home. Whenever it feels as though you are alone there's a strong network of individuals to assist in making your day a little better or at least to the best of their ability. The environments one where one can be an individual and independent but is held responsible for their actions. The best thing though is the Trojan pride and history taught about the school, from its trials and tribulations being a historically black school to educating students on the successes of VSU.

The small family-like setting. Everyone knows everyone here! And that makes things alot easier to handle. For instance, if I ever need help with anything, I can feel secure knowing that I am friends with at least 200 people here that would be willing to help.

The marching band is one of the best programs at the school. They happen to be one of the best band in the CIAA.
