Washington State University Top Questions

Is the stereotype of students at Washington State University accurate?

Kelsey

To some extent these stereotypes are true. However, there are many, many students that are very into school and their degrees. There are also students that do not even choose to be a part of the drinking and party scene and come to this university for a certain major or program.

Amanda

yes we're in the middle of no where and yes cougars know how to party, but we are also doing amazing things academically, athletically, and for our community. The greek system alone donates millions to various philanthropies.

Bobby

They are stereotypes, true for some, false for others.

Devin

Sometimes

Casey

Yes and No

Katrina

It is an agricultural school, but the majority of students are from Seattle. The campus is dry.

Dan

Many of the students from WSU are from large cities such as myself. While we do have many students from rural areas, it is only because we offer the only Agriculture program in the state. Many students from cities, such as myself, came to WSU because it offered a Greek life unlike that of any other school in the area.

Candice

For the most part these are true. People don't take into consideration how many students dont drink and still have fun.

Lance

To some extent, probably not any better or worse than any other college in the country

Cassandra

I do not believe these are true for everybody. Yes, there are those that come here just to party and have fun. However, most of the people I know are actually here to learn and try hard for their education. I personally, do not drink at all and am here to focus so that i can get the education i need for my future.
