WLU is unique because it's small and rural but still a short drive from shopping, food and entertainment.

Many of the students commute as opposed to residing on campus. The school is a small school located in a very remote location and at times, depending on the weather can be hard to access. Unless you have a car or a friend who does, you must remain on campus. There is not really alot of activity on campus, at any given time. Those who reside on campus, become close with other students in the same situation.

It is very small all professors know each student. In most classes attendance is mandatory. It is easy to get ahold of people you need in financial aid, housing office, and all professors have office hours for students

It's a small, friendly environment with small class sizes. The professors take the time to get to know you as a student and person.
