  3. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  4. Must be majoring in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or math).
  5. Must be a resident of Austin, TX.

Description: This scholarship is available for Hispanic students in Austin, TX who are majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Selection is based on academic achievement, a demonstrated record of community service, and unmet financial need.

Additional Information: The Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation, in partnership with the Hispanic Scholarship Consortium, provides this scholarship each year to a local area Hispanic student who is majoring in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

To be considered for an award, students must first register for an account with the online scholarship application portal. In addition to the completed online application, students must submit the following documents: Two essay responses to the questions listed on the application, as well as any additional questions listed for the specific scholarship(s) the student is interested in applying for; a current resume; a listing of all community service hours completed; a copy of scanned, official transcripts; a copy of the student's FAFSA Student Aid Report; and email addresses of at least two individuals who can provide an electronic letter of reference for the applicant. International students and non-U.S. citizens must also provide evidence of legal residency. The Student Aid Report (SAR) is obtained by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. All applications must be completed online, on or before the deadline date.
