Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Awards are made on an annual basis and are paid at the start of each term by Central Scholarship Bureau. Checks are mailed to each recipient's home address and are made payable jointly to the student and the school and must be endorsed by both.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a female.
  3. Must be a permanent resident of the State of Maryland.
  4. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better.
  5. Must have been out of high school for at least twelve months.
  6. Must have adjusted gross family income of $90,000 or less.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for women who are residents of Maryland who have been out of high school for at least 12 months. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: Due to the large volume of applications received for this program, only award winners will be notified by mail no later than June 30. This is a competitive scholarship and not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Decisions of Central Scholarship Bureau and the Rubin Grants Committee are final. Awards are based on a combination of factors including academic achievement, extracurricular activities and financial need.

Award Amount: Up to $2,500 annually, non-renewable. Prior semester transcripts must be submitted to determine eligibility. Please note: Any student not maintaining the required 3.0 grade point average may not receive funding the following semester.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available on the Central Scholarship Bureau (CSB) website.In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following materials: a copy of his/her current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or Student Aid Report (SAR) (or the applicant's most recent tax return if his/her FAFSA or SAR is not available); a completed 'Budget Form,' including the student's tuition costs and all known income sources; and an essay addressing the topic listed on the application. The SAR is sent to students once the FAFSA has been processed. Students must file the FAFSA by the deadline date. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. In addition to completing the scholarship application, including all the needed information for the loan application, the applicant must call the CSB office to schedule an interview. Completed online applications must be submitted by the deadline date.
