Will students be able to take any classes outside of their specialty?
The courses you are required to take vary from school to school, so you should begin by checking requirements for your chosen major and any core requirements for the college. If you are attending a conservatory or art institute program the courses outside your specialty may be limited because the curriculum is so concentrated. However, if you are majoring in the arts at a college or university, you should expect to take a number of classes outside the arts department. You may even be able to major or minor in an unrelated field. Everything depends on your college’s requirements, so check the course catalog and ask.

Yes if they enter a liberal college that has general requirements, they will be required to take additional classes from other areas.

As long as you are completing all required coursework for your degree, you sure can. If you are not sure if you are meeting your graduation requirements, contact your program advisor; he or she will make sure that you are on the right track.
Best of luck!!

Will students be able to take any classes outside of their specialty?
Once again, this depends on the university. This is part of the selection process when working with a counselor. If you have interests outside of, let’s say “photography”, you want to make sure you are at an institution that offers more options. Some schools can be quite specific and others can place restrictions on courses you take outside of your area of concentration. With impaction occurring at some state schools, this is also something you want to consider when making a final decision.
