Background

Dave's career is devoted to building programs to improve students' academic success and economic mobility. While working directly with students in elementary grades through college, he has also written math, reading, and test prep textbooks and built training programs serving thousands of teachers, school administrators, and college counselors.

During a decade at the College Board, he helped create the Advanced Placement District Diagnostic program to strengthen AP classes and reverse the exclusion of BIPOC students from advanced courses. Dave also leveraged his extensive experience as an SAT/ACT tutor to design sustainable programs that generated new National Merit Scholars at public high schools. He has trained staff at CalTech, University of California, Arizona State, and multiple schools on best practices for using standardized test scores in college admissions.
