The most popular groups are fraternities ans sororities because they do a handful of advertising. However, a tradition is the undie run that is taken place at the end of the year where students donate their outfit to charity strip off and run in their undies on the last day of school! Also, students are very engaged in sports and the most popular one is Football in our batlle against our territorial rival, University of Arizona. In their free time students also hike the A mountain which is 2 blocks from the ASU Tempe campus.

I would say the athletics- it is a huge draw to be a part of a school that is not only national ranking for academics, but the athletic boost is another huge draw.

The gym at the Sun Devil Fitness Center (SDFC) is always packed, intramural sports are always going on under the lights, and numerous clubs and groups are always getting together. Fraternities and Sororities might not be the best option for you, as it wasn't for me, if you respect women, don't want to drink 3-4 times a night during your freshman year, and want to focus on your academics. There are multitudes of groups out there that will provide the sense of brotherhood that the fraternities promise. The fraternities and sororities are the most talked about groups on campus nonetheless.

There are a plenty of student orgs/ teams in all fields desired.
I am involved with American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Students for exploration and development of space, AIAA, etc.. They are big orgs which are very active and have links with big industries and have a lot of talented people inside them.
It depends, if someone is not concerned about privacy they might keep doors open.
Guest speakers are very popular. Athletic events like football, basketball are immensely popular.
There are many couples inside campus and they are quite open about it from the scenes on campus. But there is no offensive or unethical activities on campus.
I met my closest friends in classes.
I generally study late night to be honest because of busy schedule in the day time and that is very common with many students.
There are plenty of cultural and fun filled activities that go on inside ASU. Its really Big.
People generally party during weekends.
Fraternities and sororities are quite and are always open for interested students. But it is optional.
Last weekend I completed my assignments and had fun with friends, watched movies, etc..
Watching movies, long drive with friends, etc...
Go to friends' houses who live off campus, visit places of attractions, various restaurants, etc..

AMA, SBA, I'm not awake at 2 am on a Tuesday, I like to eat fro yo and people choose to party often but I am not one of them. I spend time at things like Football, Basketball games and MU after dark.
Jamie
The most visual student groups on campus are Greek Organizations
Rebecca
Sporting events are a big deal here, especially football. There is always tailgaiting before the football games, and there is so much energy in the stadium they are a lot of fun. And there is always parties around campus. If you do not want to drink, on Friday nights there are free events in the Memorial Union for students.

I'm not huge on the social life at Asu, but from what I have seen, football games are a big deal on campus. There are also a lot of parties, alcohol consumption, and drug use. People may think that being in the honors college will deter some of these habits, but the honors students party just as hard as the general student body. There are also a lot of parties in apartments just off campus every weekend.
If you aren't into partying, there are also other things to do with the weekends and evenings. The union has movie nights, karaoke nights, pool, and bowling. It is also easy to take the light rail into Phoenix, where there is an abundance of social things to do.

The most popular groups will be fraternity and sorority i suppose. I am involved with PERMIAS Phoenix which is an Indonesian Student Association of Arizona Phoenix. I stayed in dorms for 2 semesters and they liked to leave their door to attract attention. ASU has a lot of guest speakers coming to speak, Theatre events are also oftenly presented in ASU, not to mention there is Gammage Auditorium for bigger events.
I like to go to nearby restaurants and hang out with my close friends. If i am awake at 2am on a tuesday, i usually go to my friends room and hang out for a bit. Each year, there are many traditions and events happen on campus, they are international night, World Festival and so on. People here party hard! That is why this school is named Party School. I personally think that fraternities/sororities are not so important. I think its because i still do not know about them. Most people in the dorm joined fraternities. It seems fun to me.

The most popular student groups are probably the sports activities and the church groups. School spirit is very much encouraged here and so our team sports are enormously popular! In addition to sports, there are many church groups that get involved with the students at ASU and therefore become very popular as well.
Samantha
Sororities and fraternities are very common at Arizona State University. The Planning and Activities Board(PAB) throws many students events every month. Some of the most popular events include the Spring Luau, Devil Palooza, Sun Devil Homecoming, Oozeball, and the ASU Undie Run.

Arizona State has some of the best activities and groups of any university. Football season is without a doubt the most fun part of the semester. Everyone goes to the games fully decked out in their gold attire, ready to cheer on ASU to a victory. Traditions such as white washing the giant 'A' on our A Mountain, the lantern walk up A Mountain, the parade, and the masquerade dance are all unforgettable. One of the best memories I had this semester was the free Lupe Fiasco concert hosted by ASU. It felt like the whole school was there, making it one of the most friendly and exciting environments I have ever been in. With all the clubs and groups that ASU offers, even when it's not football season, you are sure to have an amazing time. From sport clubs, fitness clubs, religious clubs, fraternities, sororities and a large amount of fan based clubs such as our Harry Potter Quidditch club, every student is sure to find a group they love. The campus is located right next to Mill Ave and Tempe Market Place, making it easy to go shopping or even just hang out.

There are so many student activities that are always taking place on campus. Football games are a big turnout- it is so exhilarating to be in the student section! You haven't experienced a sporting event until you get decked out in gold and stand while chanting with your peers on to victory.
ASU offers many intramural sports which also have big turnouts. There is every type of activity you can participate in from dance to dodgeball. Intramural sports are a fun way to do something you love, but not having to compete against other schools.
We also have a big theater program that is always putting on plays, musicals, etc. As well as having student production, there are so many professional productions throughout the year! Big hits this year have included shows such as "Wicked" and "West Side Story".
ASU is all for traditions; there are an abundant amount that take place throughout the year. Some memorable ones include: the welcome back concert, Devilpalooza (the ASU equivalent to Lollapalooza), and whitewashing 'A' mountain (this is done by the freshman to symbolize a new chapter of life).
The main campus is in Tempe. There are a variety of places to hang out nearby such as shopping malls, movie theaters, restaurants, Tempe Town Lake, and downtown Phoenix. And if you want to stay on campus for the weekend, there are still tons of things to do such as go to the bowling alley in the student union, play ping pong at the recreation center, go swimming in the pools, or just hang out with friends.
Whether it is participating in an ASU tradition, attending a sporting event, or seeing a play- there is always something to do here at ASU.

One of the largest student groups I'm a part of is Greek life. I didn't make the decision to pledge a fraternity until my second semester, but it's one of the best decisions I made. Obviously a fraternity provided me with a great social life, but it helped me with a lot more. My fraternity helped encourage me to maintain good grades as well as distinguish myself as a leader on campus. Naturally, my closest friends are in my fraternity and I have a great time with them, not necessarily just at parties.
I also made a lot of friends in the dorms that I'm still in contact with. Freshman are required to live in the dorms their first year, and it's a great way to get to know people. I lived in the Barrett dorms, where the majority of kids were very focused on their studies. Initially I preferred a more lax atmosphere, like that of Hassayampa, but being in good company helped me develop good study habits.
My advice with a student organization is to get involved anyway you can. It's advice that's beat in to your head, but it's especially necessary in college. My fraternity takes up the majority of my time, but in the past I was part of a mixed martial arts club that was very fun. My other friends have gotten involved with an a Capella group, ultimate Frisbee, and volleyball. Organizations in college are all about pursuing your interests and having fun. They are also the best way to meet people.
