I feel that I came to this school well prepared to learn and interact with both the students and staff here. I dont feel that I have anything that I should've been aware of before entering Bowie State University.

The one thing I wish I would have known before coming here was that Bowie State is dead on the weekends

As indicated earlier, Bowie State University was not my first college choice. In fact, my first choice was the College of Notre Dame in Baltimore, MD. However, I would have liked to have known about the lack of resources and service that this campus offers. Similar to many HBCU's, the lack of state and federal funding is obvious all around campus, especially in relation to maintenance, renovation, student services and support, and the overall cleanliness of the campus. It would have been nice to experience the typical day of a Bowie State University student before becoming one.

I'm the first child in my family to attend a Four Year University as a full time student so my preparation for college wasn't as thorough as i woud've liked it to be. I was basically just trying to find a school in Maryland that had a BSN program and was close to home. There's not so much that i wish i would've known, i just wish i would've broadened my horizons to choose a better school. However, im still content with my decision of coming here.

I wish I had known about the lack of funding that is available for the school from the public and the state.
