No. We do know how to have fun, but we work hard and play harder. I used to think that Greeks were sterotypical also, until I went greek and found out that there are so many things that we do sometimes we don't even have time to go party. We really help out the community with service projects and volunteering. Greeks also are encouraged to do well in school in order to particpiate in greek events.

NO! At any college you go to, there are obviously going to be a select group of students who are just there to party, but it's not fair to generalize the entire school as being that way.
Kristi
No. I mean yea we party but so does every other university. We have decent academics and personally I know many students who choose Central over state or michigan.
Jennifer
No. A lot of CMU students enjoy the smaller feel of Mt. Pleasant and Central's campus. As a transfer student from MSU I don't find the curriculum any less difficult.
Alyssa
I don't believe it is the way it used to be 10 years ago. I feel that we are not the biggest party school in Michigan anymore.
Maureen
No, they aren't because there is always something to do in Mt. Pleasant.
Chelsea
some of them are. it is just as much of a party school as any other college in michigan. it is easier to get into than msu, u of m, etc but just as easy as western or eastern. it is a good school for education majors.
Vanessa
Every college has their partying but I do not think that it is what all of Central is about. It does have a very good teaching program, I had several teachers in high school who graduated from here.
Ben
Not all of them are accurate. Statistically there are more white people than any other nationality at CMU. Also many people drink, but they are not out to defile themselves like most people think. In fact most Christian groups on campus look down on people that like to party.
Kristen
No, because honestly, what college isn't a big party school? There are going to be a lot of parties no matter what college you attend.
Katie
No, the sterotype isn't accurate.
Wade
Of course not. Plenty of athletes care about their academics, I actually think it's the other was around. I feel like more athletes care about their academics than do people who aren't involved in any extracurriculars.
Katelyn
No- you have the ability to decide how you want to spend your time throughout your college experience.
Alex
Yes and no. Just like any other community there is a wide variety of personalities.
