Clarion University of Pennsylvania Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about Clarion University of Pennsylvania? Why?

Samantha

One of the very worst things about this school is the process by which you schedule classes. It makes it very hard to get the classes that you need in order to graduate on time because by the time you get to schedule online the classes that you need are already filled and are closed. Special scheduling priviledges are given to students in the honors program or students on certain school clubs. They get to schedule before everyone else no matter what their class standing is.

Melanie

the worst thing at this school is that it is small, so for a more social life, it takes a while to get to a city with good shopping.

William

I think the worst thing is the housing and meal situation, The dorms don't get cleaned throughly and the food at the dining hall is low grade def not worth the money you pay for it

Caitlyn

I would consider the lack of information automatically provided as the worst thing about Clarion University. As a freshman there are many procedures you are expected to know on your own. I had to make several phone calls and ask many questions to find the answers I needed. The lack of information that the staff includes, such as PRAXIS testing or registration, can become very stressful. If more help was offered (for example, a mentor) the university would be the perfect enviornment.

There is a small market for students to be hired while in school. Clarion is a small town and alot of local residents fill the open job positions. If you are a student who can afford to go to college and not have a job, Clarion University is a great place to relax and study.

I condisder the worst thing about clarion to be working with the campus. i feel that the campus authorities such as administration, financial aid, and o tehrs are sometimes hard to get ahold of and dont recieve the proper help you need.

Sean

The cold weather may be a problem for some people not used to it. I would have also liked to have seen a few more scholarships available for those in need. My father is on disability and I could have used and could still benefit from any scholarships to reduce my out of pocket expenses and the need to take out maximum Stafford school loans which will need to be paid back upon graduation.

Grace

The worst thing about our school would have to be a tie between the hills on campus and the social life on weekends. Clarion, being such a small town, really doesn't have much to offer socially and/or culturally. The hills on campus are just a pain, but manageable.

Janet

some of the programs interfere with eachother. it restricts the iversity of your interests and forces you to only persue some of them.

Kelli

The worst thing about my school is that it is not diverse. We are a small rural school in Western PA, most students are heterosexual, caucasian, and middle class.
