What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I truly wish I had known more about the financial aid options for this particular school. After the first year, I discovered a scholarship database full of scholarships awarded specifically to students of that school alone. After applying, I was awarded multiple scholarships each year until my graduation. Many students were unaware of this option and as a result, missed out on many opportunities. My advice to future students is do your research! Find out about all the scholarships your school offers and take advantage of that aid.
