it has everything you could ever want academically and socially. it offers way more majors than 99{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of schools and you get to know someone from every department. socialy it is wonderful. the campus is so big you can definitly find something to fit in with, whether it be gay rights or the soccer club... i will always be proud of my alma mater!
jennifer
ability to choose any major, as the school provides something for everyone. plus it is not that difficult to change your mind.

Wonderful team aspect, best Hotel School in the world.
Evan
great diversity of opportunity. you can find and do anything there.
Liz
It's in the middle of nowhere. It's also an Ivy League University that you pay state school tuition for.
Tracey
It became my home away from home. Being practically it's own little town students really fit into a new and very welcoming community.

You can take ANYTHING you want to-- one of the biggest pros about Cornell is that as an upper classman you can enroll in very specific, in-depth courses ranging from ice cream science to insect conservation bio.

Admittedly, Cornell's established reputation did add a lot of appeal when compared to Berkeley and Northwestern. That, however, was definitely not everything. More important, was the way I felt on campus - comfortable, intimidated (in a good way), and generally impressed. The campus is one of, if not the most beautiful campus in the United States. I also like that Cornell has the stereotypical college campus image, and that it isn't in a big city, allowing it to feel through and through like college - we will all have the chance to live in SF or NYC later!

There is a strong emphasis on research and desire to create knowledge. This is an ideal that seems to be shared throughout the faculty. Undergraduates are encourged to get hands on experience in research in almost any field and there is ample oppurtunity through the university to do so.
Emma
I cried for a week after I left Cornell, so clearly I loved the school.
Kat
Just - Cornell, for all of its flaws, is a wonderful place. (except for the bloody hills!)
Amanda
Cornell is definately a place we love to hate. Sometimes I would give anything in the world to go home and never come back, but then other times I look around and realize how happy and lucky I am to be there. It's somewhat of a rollercoaster, to be honest, so get ready.

You can have an awesome college experience anywhere, but here's a few things that I think makes Cornell stand out...
1. Academic Standard: Bottom line, the people here are talented in so many ways...the people who teach us are even more talented...and the people who hold this university together are progressive thinkers. You'll be challenged, and you'll love it
2. Location: You'll be surprised how much having a beautiful campus keeps your spirits up!
3. Tradition: Cornellians are proud of everything Cornell! Sports, academics, you name it!
Jesse
Cornell is great if you can handle the workload

This survey took way too long. I love Cornell, most days. Some days I hate it. Its a complicated relationship between me and my Alma Mater. Its a beautiful place, a wonderful town, filled with bright, fun, caring people. But the academic rigor would quell many a fine spirit. For the most part, the admissions dept tries to select (I believe) for people who have a certain... resilience, and drive, to succeed here. If that's you, by all means, apply and get the most out of what Cornell has to offer. But please don't f* up the curve :-)

I actually chose to stay here for my M.Eng for another semester... to get a bit more time here and shift my career focus a bit. I got a job offer from every company I interviewed with (5/5), and I definitely feel really well prepared for the future!

The weather has an affect on moods here, people are distinctly happier and more agreeable when its warmer. Everyone here is very insecure, no one wants to just chill.
Emily
The food is wonderful but the housing is aweful. There aren't enough dorms for the student body and the lottery is terrible.

YAYYYY!!! UP Till Dawn is a fabulous organization that helps fundraise for St. Jude. Please join!
