Before coming to Famu; I wish I know the seriousness of waking up for classes on time, the true responsibilities of maintaining a high GPA, and the negative influences that lurk among the campus. For those new students getting ready to attend any university; I strong recommend that you focus on your GPA because once you mess up the freshmen semester it is great difficulty to raise that GPA. My GPA is not as bad as many others, but ut did drop when I came here. Also, be careful with the partying. Their tempting trust!

Before I came to this school, I wish I would have known about all the temptations, the many opportunities available for students, and that having faith in you is what really matters when things get hard. The temptations on campus that stopped me from doing what I was really suppose to do, like set Fridays. The many opportunities available on campus, we could receive by visiting SGA, reading the school newspapers or visiting the career center. The one thing that kept me strong through these years has been faith. I realized if I believe in myself anything can happen.

The strength of the Chemical Engineering program and lack of school scholarships in my major.

I wish I would have realized how hard it really is to afford to pay for college. I have recently had to take a semester off from scholl because of financial issues. Only one of my parents can contribute to paying for my education and what my financial aid does not cover my mother has to pick up. When I was in high school I did not grasp the fact that going to college was so expensive and always thought finding a scholarship would come easily.
