My favorite classes are my psychology courses that im taking, they are awesome. Least favorite classes are anything with math, because FIU does not have really good math professors. In my classes class participation is common we seem to be pretty competitive at what we do. I think like everything we have professors that are horrible just like we have professors that are awesome, no one school is perfect, so FIU has pretty good professors for the most part. I think FIU education is competitive and at the same geared more toward being able to receive a job. I alsi wanted to add that we have an awesome Career services department that are always there to help out in all aspects, from resume critiques to businees etiqutte dinners, internships, mock trials, yep they are wonderful! I also want to mention that FIU has wonderful and always there to help academic advisers, yes they are awesome as well!

Many teachers have a problem speaking English. This may be Miami, but not every one is of hispanic decent and can understand their teachers when they speak Spanish.

The Marketing department and in general the Business school at FIU is a world-class program with great faculty. Not all of them are as inspiring and as great as the rest but overall, the programs are as diverse as the populations and the faculty is a mix of individuals with great experience in their field. Depending on the interest of the student, most teachers are very approachable and willing to help.
Mike
The professors don't know my name. Nor do they are to learn it. They mostly care is finishing their research and enjoying the Miami sun, instead of teaching the class.
Sasha
The main core classes required for business majors, the professors are indifferent and not the highest quality.
Robert
I dont really have a favorite class, more like favorite teachers, which makes me enjoy the class.
I study probally 5 hours per week.
Class particpation is common if the class is interesting.
As far as intellectual conversations outside of class.... I dont think so.
Some students are more competitive than others but that's everywhere.
Operations Management with Steven Ellis
The academis requriements is good, however the advisment procedure needs to definatly change.

Prof. Luis Fernandez, psychology is a great professor. My best in my four years. Due to budget cuts there are many fun classes that have been taken away. Judo is one of them (it was a great extra class). Education is geared toward getting a job but these budget cuts are not helping at all. Mandique needs to spending so much money on football and landscaping and more on classes and teachers.

Classes are big so most teachers won't know our name. My favorite was Harry Potter english class and my race in america class. One was personable and good material and the other class was good material. Business majors have intelligent conversation outside of class. Students arent really competitive. I will FIU needs to have a better UCC requirement and more choices.

Some profs are bad some are good..just like in any other school...school is tough here...if you dont open a book....
Chris
Lots of options, geared toward getting a job

Professors will only know your name if you actually go talk to them or go to their office hours for the most part because classes are big. Students study often...but not as often as I think they should be studying. Even in the library students will goof around. But that's what I like about FIU. It's not always so serious. It's a nice laid back environment for most of the year...the only exception is when everyone is freaking out over midterms and finals. But you'll only see that in the library. Around campus everyone is relaxed having a good time. The only thing that might be annoying is the fact that intellectual conversations outside of class are scarce....and even in class. Some students are competitive (the ones that make the A's) but the majority, as I said before, are laid back.

Many of the classes are small, which is great because sometimes the professors are able to cater more to your learning needs. However, for certain majors - say business - I feel like the professor are not even trying to teach us anymore. They are getting paid to assign us books and not necessarily teach.
Maria
Class sizes are kind of big therefore teachers don't get to know you in a personal level. There is a wide range of classes. The library is well equipped and confortable.
Jessie
Favorite class legal enviroment of business. John Wreden is an amazing professor.
jaime
are intense, i believe them to be very underated
Tristan
FIU has its mixture of great teachers and terrible ones. There are a handful that make the effort to know my name. Some FIU students do have intellectual conversations outside of the classroom, but those are usually phylosophical or academically driven students.
Mel
amazing business professors!!! especially FINANCE profs
Nico
Some professors do know you by name. My favorite class was CGS 3300 my least was ENC1101. Students stuidy pretty often, the library is always full. Class participation is not common. I believe that FIU students do have intellectual conversations outside of class. Students are not competetive. The most unique class I've ever taken is ENC 1102. My majors are International Business, Finance, and MIS, FIU is in the top 10 schools for business nationwide. No i do not spend time with professors outside of class. I feel FIU's academic requirements are just right. The education at FIU is geared toward getting your degree over with.
Harper
FIU is geard towards getting a job. Professors are hard to find after class.
Veronica
I was not told that instead of entering the Honors College to investigate if your major may have an honors tract.
