I wish I had known how many opportunities there would be for leadership and service, so that I could begin to get involved as soon as I arrived.

Brooke

That I shouldn't mope about missing my old friends, because there are so many new interesting and accepting people out there on campus that will support me in anything I do, and be a new friend without replacing my old ones.

Juan

I wish that I would have been more prepared about the amount of reading that is associated with college education. At my university, reading becomes on the biggest parts of the studying process. The reading of technical works- textbooks- can be difficult to a first-year rookie. I would have liked to have known ahead of time so I could have prepared better.

Joseph

I wish i knew more calculus.

Jenna

I came into college as "undecided" and first semester took random elective courses. Since I knew what I kind of wanted, I decided second semester to switch to an exploratory major which contains a narrow group of related majors to start guiding you in a direction. I wish I had done this originally and then just picked a major sooner because YOU CAN ALWAYS SWITCH! Being decisive and picking a major doesn't mean you're stuck there or it could end up being wrong, instead it just helps you see what you like and don't like sooner.

Emerald

There is nothing else I would have needed to know before coming to Florida State. The orientation programs and advising programs available to students answer any questions one might have regarding academics, social life, etc. I felt fully informed when I got here, and when I did have a question, it was easy to find someone to answer it.

Carson

I wish I had a better understanding of the transition and changes that would occur when I left home to go to college. I'm happy with my school, but I wish I could have been more prepared for the independence and self-reliance that would follow. About the school itself, I wish I had known how scheduling classes worked, because that can be stressful for a new student.

Ashley

I wish I had known exactly what major I really wanted to pursue. I ended up switching majors and graduating a semester late; but at least I found what I really want to do with my life.

Carole

The only thing I wish I'd known about my school pertains to the parking situation. Since we have such a large student body, sometimes it's hard to find a spot before class, which can really put you in an irritable mood and possibly make you even miss class because that $20 parking ticket just isn't worth the trouble.
