My advice would be to be more involved in your extracurricular activities because they offer a great way to make additional friends and a great way to network. On top of that, start looking to get into a place entry level sooner rather than later because it will help when you decide to go for your MBA to have your foot in the door at an organization. Even though it may not seem like it, feel free to spend extra time at school; going to meetings, shaking hands with different professors that could potentially help you advance you in the future, the like.

The advice I would give myself would be to think twice about joining the military and let the option of college get a little more thought. I decided early on in my high school days that I was going to join the military and I was so set that I did not even take the SATs. I had a great time in the military and I met a ton of great people but I am already 28 and still have about two more years of school to go. I would love to start a family with my wife now (whom I met in the Navy) but if I had gone straight to college after high school instead, I might have already established a great career for myself. I would also tell myself that things will get better, the divorce did not ruin my life and that I need to spend more time with my family, because they will not always be so easy to contact later in life. The last bit of advice I would give is to stop procrastinating on homework and get better grades.

Dear Nicole,
Stop messing around, you need to buckle down when it comes to a job and money, mom will not be able to pay for all your printing and supplies. You also need to be warned about how hard architecture really is. Do not mess around in college it is not a place to mess around you need to get your work done so you can get more money to go back. College is not free Nicole, and nothing is done without hard work. Finially Nicole dont be scared, you can do this, you will make the best friends youve ever had at college youll do perfectly fine, I promise.
Love, Your future self.

Please take school more seriously and pay more attention. Enjoy the experience and get the most out of it, from a social and educational perspective. Take classes you have a serious interest in, and put your all into the experience.

I would tell myself to take college courses my senior year so that i would have less to take after getting out of high school.

If I could go back in time to my senior year of high school I would of done a few things different. I would of actually applied for scholarships instead of putting it off and receiving no money. Now I'm applying for any scholarship I can get my hands on just so I can suffice through college and become successful. I would tell myself to write those essays for various scholarships as well as get a variation of letters of recommendation from people I have interacted with. I would of told myself that the only way I can get a scholarship is if I do apply for a scholarship. Not everyone will get it but at least I have a chance if I apply. I also would suggest to my high school self to take a few more AP classes since they give you good study habits that would of helped me in college instead of me learning these habits in college. Most important I would recommend pushing myself through high school a little bit harder so college wasn't such an adjustment.

If I were able to return to the past and talk to myself as a senior in high school, there would be so much I would want to tell myself. The first thing that I would tell myself, however, is that I was right; my prediction of my future could not be changed.
I would warn myself that the future I had foreseen for myself came true; but I would also say that while the predicted future from back then was not able to be changed, there came great benefit. The understanding of life and the world that I have today is not have been possible without the experiences of the past, which brings me to the second thing I would tell myself: to endure and walk forward.
After telling myself that I was right, I would tell myself not to run away from that truth but accept it. Happiness gained so easily is also lost easily and my experiences have made it that much more valuable. I would not want to lose this aspect of myself for any reason, so I would tell myself to endure through the coming storm and step into the calm that comes after.
