Indiana State University Top Questions

The only bad thing about our school is probably the amount of commuters that there are. We have a lot of them, and a lot of people go home on the weekends, but once you find a group of people who do not leave very often its a lot better!!

How many people live in one place with all the pollution. The location of the school is in a very busy area where there is very little clean air. I am from a small town with less than 500 students in my high school. So not being able to go out for fresh air was very new to me. I have notice that I don't feel as well when I am school. It helped me realize how important it is to preserve the environment.

The worst thing about ISU is the lack of student parking close to the dorms. I know a lot of students who refuse to drive during the week because it is so hard to find a parking spot that doesn't require a ten minute walk back to the dorms.

There is a relatively large number of commuter students, so a large number of students are gone on the weekends.

The worst thing about our school is that some of the buildings are out dated and need some maitenence work done to them, for example some of the stairs are cracking and the walls have stains and ceilings have holes in them. I do not like that the health center is not accessable in the evening hours when most accedents occur.

The worst thing about my school would have to be the cut backs of student jobs. Another would have to be the sizes of classes. Being a business major it is very difficult when there are so many sudents in the class.

I would have to say the worst thing would be the environment I live in outside of the campus. At first it was very difficult for me to adjust to such a small campus and town because I am from a big city. I believe this is the worst thing because I was not aware how small the campus or area around it was untill I was actually attending it, basically somewhat of a surprise.

In a way, our school still looks segregated. People stay in groups of those like them. I look around campus and see a diverse student population but they are not intermingling among eachother. Indiana State is known around here for the diversity of its student body but still, it doesn't seem like everyone is accepting of eachother and willing to go out of their comfort zone to make friends and mingle with someone different than themselves.

At Indiana State University the worst thing would be there is no school spirit. No one attends sporting events and it doesn't seem to bother any of the students or athletes.

The worst thing about my school is that there were not enough school sponsored events that related to the different cultures there. For any minority that enrolled at the university, having those exciting activities outside of the classroom were hard to find, which caused for many minorities to travel home on many weekends. Minority students tried to make their voice heard to student officials, but many times there was nothing done about it.

What I consider the worst part about Indiana State is the city setting, but I have never lived in a city before. The people I know from more urban areas like it, and I think it is growing on me. It was a big change but it happened pretty fast.

The worst part about Indiana State would have to be the financial aid process. The advisors here can tend to be unhelpful at times. Students don't know how much money they need for the school year and what aid is available to them. If you are paying for your education yourself, you need to know detailed information about what you need to have in order to stay a student. If the advisors aren't helpful it makes the financial aid process much more difficult for you.

Many people didn't take academics seriously and could manage to skate through with a minimum amount of work.

There is not much student involvement or excitement.

It is known for the last state school in our state that will except students who are not in the top 30{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of their senior class or excell on there SAT.
