IUP is a place where everybody parties and a lot of dramatic bullshit happens everyday and I'm really sick of it.

Jessi

The best thing about IUP is the social scene. I would change the emphasis on sports- IUP is weak in school spirit. IUP could be bigger. People usually dont know what IUP is, or they think its a branch of IU. I spend most of my time on campus in Ackerman Hall, the Interior Design building. Decent college town, good bars and restaurants. IUP's administration is great! I work hand in hand with many of them being the president of the Panhellenic Association. NO school pride= boring. IUP is unusual in itself- its a small town feel with a lot of students. You typically recognize faces yet there are nearly 14,000 students. One experience I will never forget will be rushing Alpha Gamma Delta... going Greek has made me love IUP. Complaints usually are that the weather sucks, which it does.. it rains a LOT.

The best thing about IUP is greeklife. I would change the community of Indiana and make it more exciting. It's all old people. The school is a medium-sized campus of about 14,000 When I tell people I go to IUP, some say that it is a good school, which it is, but most people say things like, "Oh, so you're drinkin' every night then, huh?" I'm only on campus when I'm going to class. I spend most of my time with my girlfriend and fraternity brothers. As I said before, there is no "college town"--it's a campus surrounded by a town of old people and boring town shoppes. The administration has become unnecessarily conservative the past couple of years. President Tony Atwater is one disliked man.

Jon

The best thing about IUP is that though it is the largest of the state schools, it still has a very intimate feel about the atmosphere. There are over 13,000 undergraduate students that attend the University but you often see a lot of the same faces, so you don't feel like another number. One thing that I would change about IUP is the relative location to some stores. There is a Wal-mart and there is the Indiana Mall, which holds a few clothing stores, shoe stores, so on and so forth. However, there aren't many good electronic stores around; if you need electronics, your best bet is at Wal-mart, which is a shame. I believe the size of IUP is just about right. They are undertaking a campus wide renovation at the current time, and when that is done, the campus will be more mordern and will look more appealing to those incoming freshman that happen to take tours.

Charlie

The bes thing about IUP is the size and diversity. Higher standards to get into IUP. Just right They automatically think "party school" Eberly School of Business College town, definitely The president is definitely biased I think it's growing, but it needs to be better IUP is a big school but everyone knows everyone. The professors go out of their way to know your name. Joining my sorority I'm not really sure

Kat

small class sizes the way the school is run just right everyone thinks your a drunk and a slut library college town the professors are great but the people running the place suck the president has asked the professors to voluntarily have their office phones shut off and use their personal cell phones instead without any reinburstment not really there is always some sort of precipitation doing beer bongs on my friends roof problems with scheduling

Tim

Best thing is the people- most I run into are easy to get along with and make college a fun experience. I'd do the construction in smaller phases. The whole campus is torn up for my last year. Just right in size. People just kind of say "Oh, cool- IUP. I bet you have fun with that." Most of my time is spent in Davis Hall or at my friends. Definite college town- the businesses thrive off teens and twenty somethings and the town becomes drastically smaller when 14,000 students leave for breaks. Dr. Atwater seems like an idiot. I don't know of many people who like him or the decisions he makes without the consent of others. The decision to have a mass graduation is one that has pissed many off. I think it will be ridicoulous to have to sit through four hours and not even receive a diploma. There is a good bit of school pride, at least from me, anyways. I'm proud I go to school here. Nothing really unusual. All the homecoming extravaganza's were memorable. Those were some of the best times- just being able to drink and be with friends all day long. Regardless of how much work or whatever else was going on at the time, everyone just goes nuts and enjoys the day. People complain about food on campus frequently it seems.

Nico

Not big enough of a city surrounding it.
