The most valuable thing I've gotten out of attending Kent State University is definitely the broadened horizons it's given me. Before entereing, I really had no idea what I wanted to do with myself during or after college. Now, through course work and lab experience, I hope to pursue a PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience after completion of my undergrad work. I've also broadened my personal interests. Having started rock climbing frequently at our school's Adventure Center my freshman year, I met some great peole who got me into other adventure sports as well, such as backpacking and biking. This past fall I was lucky enough to participate in an Adventure Race through Kent and the surrounding towns with some of the people I met at the Adventure Center. Total, we ran, kayaked and mountain biked over 20 miles, to end with archery and rock climbing. Before Kent State, if I had been told I would do that, I wouldn't have believed it. I really believe this school has brought out the best in me, which I think is the most anyone could as of their school.

I've gotten a lot out of my college experience. One of the most important things that I have learned is the importance of networking and knowing people. It is vital to you career as well as any academic experiences. I have also learned that you must always give your all no matter what the situation is because you never know who is watching. College is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity in which you prepare yourself for four years. It is a season of learning and growth. A season like no other and I have learned that one must take full advantage of it because it will never come by again.

I have received friends for life and wonderful chances to explore my major. I am an eletronic media management major which is similar to broadcast. Our school has their own TV and radio channels and studios. I am applying to volunteer at the TV channel next semester. Many of our majors require an internship. It's nice to know Kent will not let you slip by without requiring a resume builder. As far as my social life, I met the majority of my close friends through a program called Excel. This was for about 60 of the undecided freshmen entering Kent. Through this program, I attended class, meetings, and lived with this group of people. Also, it helped me pick out a major. Excel had the different colleges come in and explain what would be required, expected, extra costs, etc. In fact, the whole reason why I picked Kent was because of Excel. I orginally planned to transfer after my first year. After a semester, I was in love with the campus, the people and the electronic media management major.

Attending San Jacinto College has given me a broader view of the oppertunities that are available to me if I successfully complete their requirements. With the knowledge and experience I have gained from the instructors at San Jac I feel signifacntly empowered to complete difficult tasks in my work environment as well as in my everyday life. I am greatful for the flexibilty of the school and its courses because they have truly made it easier for me to attend and attempt to complete my degree in a hybrid course scenario (50{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} in class, 50{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} online). As a full time employee, mother and fulltime student I have found that I do better with these type of classes so it has been greatly beneficial for my situation. I can't wait to finish my degree so that I am able to gain my title and promotion at work as well as being able to provide my family with a brighter future that without my education they would not have. By completing my A.A.S I feel encouraged to continue on to my Bachelor's degree and hopefully make a diffence in many of the perils that our country faces everyday.

I have recived a lot out of my college experience. I have learned to manage my time, meaning learning how to schedule when to study, relax, and spend time with my daughter. I learned that everyone is different, but we all are here for one reason, to succeed. I learned that life is hard, and its up to you to make it mangeable. Its been valuable to me because it helped me become a better mother and student. Its valuable because I will not be able to suceed in life without it.

Through my college experience I have grown to view certain situationsfrom others' perspectives, not just my own. I am able to solve problems better on my own, not always relying on someone else to assist me. I enjoy not having to always ask my boss how to do something or for help so I feel this is a helpful trait. I also feel that I have became more responsible since I have returned to school in the fact that I get all my assignments done on time and have passed with exceptional grades. Returning to school has been valuable to me in the fact that I am currently working nights while I finish school and paying for my house. I don't want to be working nights for the rest of my life so I feel that, finishing school gives me a way out of working nights. I am also in the process of planning my wedding, so my time management with school is very key. I have to manage my time in a way to complete my homework, do my planning, as well as put in enough hours at my job to make ends meet.

I have gotten more out of my college experience than I have ever gotten out of life "All together." Believe or not, I didn't know how to tie a tie before I got to college. Believe it or not I never got to experience love from the oppossite sex until I got to college (complete romance and intellectual pleasure.) Believe it or not I didn't believe I was as smart as I was before I got to college. Out of my four semesters of being in college, too of those semester I've been on the deans list and the others maintained a 2.9 or higher. I wish I've could've done better but, In my thinking considering the odds with me transferring I believe I'll do better next semester. Teachers, students and family have shown me nothing but, love since I been in school. My younger generation looks up to me like they never have before and I'm enjoying what I'm learning. Im more organized spiritually, physically, mentally and can now look at life from a stand point where I'm above, in control and the only person stopping me is me.

My classes are the most important thing, but I believe that you cannot learn everything in the class room . A person has to be active in organizations to help bulid them as a person to give them tips and networking connections. So far during my college experience I have became apart of many organizations on campus. The organizations I am involved in are Delta Zeta Sorority, Kent State Woman's Chorus, PRSSA and a Disney College Program Representative. I think that these experiences have helped with not only my classroom sucess but they have helped me become a better pesron. I believe that the value to attend college is so important in a person's life. I think that college shaped a person into the person they will become!

Attending college has changed my life completely. I have learned more about myself, identified a career that will allow me survive and thrive in our economy, and become a role model for my daughter. At the age of 44, my college connected me with resources to diagnose my learning disability. I have learned about the support and special ways I need to study to be successful at school, in my profession, and in life. I have discovered a new career that builds on my skills, expertise, and passion that will also help me support my family. I used to work as a photographer and was laid off. What I loved about photography was the technical side of it. I also love to help people. When I am finished with my degree, I will be an MRI technician. I will have combined things about myself that I love with a growing professional field that is in demand.I recently adopted a daughter and she is learning from me that it is never too late to find your purpose. The value going to college has given me in this respect is priceless.

I have learned a lot from attending college that I will take with me as my life continues. My college experience has been very successful, staying involved as well as working hard to maintain a high grade point average. One thing that I have learned the most about from college is time management, this is a skill that is needed in everyday life and is very important during school work as well. Another skill that I have learned from my college experience would be to have great people skills, just get to know people be welcoming and you never know what interesting and even life-long friends you might meet.

I have learned quite a bit in the few months I have been in school. I have learned the actual subjects, and how to apply them to daily living. My Sociology class has shown me how to asses and think further into a situation, so when my children are acting up I truly think and question why they are, and how to solve it. My Microcomputers class has shown me how to use a home budget on Access and Excel. My Medical Terminology class really prepared me for my upcoming nursing classes. I am thankful I am able to attend school. It has been valuable to attend because all of the classes and instructors have different tips and lifestyle choices to teach me, through them and the actual subjects I feel like I have lived those choices and grown from them. Thank you for your time!

Kent State University was my first choice because it was close to home. I have always felt comfortable at KSU. As a freshman, I learned how to be confident in my abilities and be proud of what I can do. I was never someone who liked to participate in large classes, but now I enjoy it. My professors have encouraged me to embrace what I know and contribute to the larger discussions. The ability to speak my opinion in front of a large group of people has been beneficial to other aspects of my life. I am now more willing to try things that I may not be 100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} sure about. For example, I volunteer in a Psychology lab on campus working with lab rats. At first, I was very apprehensive about it, but one of my professors urged me to take advantage of the opportunity and learn as much from it as I can. I am thankful for the qualities I have acquired at Kent State University. I will be forever grateful.

I have gotten so much out of my college experience. Friends, knowledge, and responsibility. The Interior design program at Kent is difficult, but very good. I have learned so much, and the way I look at things have been changed forever. Dorm life has made me a much more social person and I reccomend it for everyone. I love Kent State.

I have learned through my college experience that it pays off to stay focused and to not let the freedom of the college life take you over. In my freshman year, I was so enthralled with the idea of having all of this freedom to choose my classes and not get in trouble for having my cell phone out that I got carried away and my grades suffered. I didn't keep my focus where it should have been and now I have to work twice as hard to bring my grades back up to get a better a GPA. Stay focused on your classes and your major because you have plenty of time to talk to your friends and play on your phones and laptops after class is over.

I have had a hard time decifering between what is purely just an interest to me and what is something that I can do as a career. It has taken me a long time but now I've finally figured it out and I'm in the finish line to graduating. I've experimented in a few different areas and I think Kent is a great school for that because they do offer so many different majors. I value everything that I've learned from attending Kent.

What I have gotten out of my college experience is the realization that my success or failure falls squarely on my own shoulders. If I want something, it is up to me to make it happen. My college experience has had a few bumps and breaks in the road and I have learned many things along the way; especially that I am capable of achieving the goals I set forth, and it is okay to make mistakes along the way. I know I have made plenty of mistakes on this journey, and will probably make a few more, but I have learned that those mistakes are opportunities to learn and grow, and not to take them for granted. It has been valuable to attend college because it is here that I have discovered important things about myself, and how to apply the skills and tools I have gained in the classroom to my everyday life at work and home. I think the most valuable thing about attending college will be the diploma I earn at the end and the world of possibilities that diploma will unveil for me.

Attending college and leaving home can be one of the scariest things a young person has to do in their life. With the uncertainty of what lies ahead in life, attending college can also be very stressful. Although things may somtimes start out scary, attending college at Kent State University has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Attending college has taught me to be self relient, independent, and has made me become a mature young adult. It has also taught me to be my own person, and to be more accepting of the differences of those who surround me. Attending college has also made me realize what is most important to me in life, such as my family and my future, and has helped me create a strong set morals and values to live by. I have met so many wonderful people while attending college, and certainly some life long friends. Every day I become a more well rounded individual, and the person that I always hoped I would be some day. My experience in college is one that I will never forget, and an experience that has made me into the good person I am today.

I have gotten from my time thus faar at Kent State, that I truley did pick the correct major. Kent makes you take classes that cover all aspects of your major, not just your specific concentration. I have also learned from Kent that I am in charge of my own future. The choices I make are what will help me to succed in the future and in everything that I do. It hasdd been so valuable to attend Kent because I now know that I can, and will, do anything that I have set my mind to. With Kent state's help they just make things easier for me!

While attending Kent State University, I have gotten much more than grades from my experience. In my experience, I have learned the most about myself and the person that I can one day grow into. At first, I attended Kent State with the intent to receive a four year Bachelor's degree so I could just get out into the "real world". As I continued into my degree program though, I realized that college is more than just a transition period. In my two years at Kent, I have seen the true value of my college experience. This value is present in the new friends I have made, the supportive faculty that have guided me, and the lesson plans that have pushed my creative boundaries. Without these experiences, I don't think I would be the person I am today or see the possibilities of my future. There is so much more I would like to share about my time attending Kent State University. With only two hundred words or less though, it is quite hard to summarize such an experience.

A higher income, better standard of living, and technological literacy are all good answers to what I have gotten out of my college experience. However, I feel that I have acheived so much more than just that. I have gotten out of my experience a sense of accomplishment that I haven't felt from anything else that I have done and the opportunity to be around so many different people with such diverse and similar interests at the same time. I have made life long friends with some people that I that I never would have met if I didn't attend to college. It has taught me the value of managing my time effectively and how to push myself to succeed. It taught me not to give up simply because I didn't know the answer, but rather to think outside the box. To consider answers that I never would have thought of before. It has broadened my horizons in so many ways and the best part about it is, my college experience is not over yet.
