If I could go back into time to my high school senior year I would take advanced placement classes, and try to raise my gpa. Also I did not make any mistakes just learning experiences and with out them I would not be the same person that I am today.

Surely if I could send my wisdom back in time to a former Highschool Variation of myself, Id certainly have two lewels of priceless advice:
First of all, you think your pretty clever dont you?, well You are not.
You dont know anything, nor does anyone else, and the more You learn the more Obvious that becomes.
and Secondly,
dont be afraid. Of anything or anyone. You are Impervious to nearly everything but the consequence of your own Ignorance.
These are two very lucky talents of Yours, do not take them for granted nor let them go to your head.
p.s. You hated psycology, it was like reading pamphlets on obsolete outdated research. Take Philosophy Instead, you will find it much more fascinating and useful.

I would say that study habits, testing skills, and patience will help you when your in college. College requires more studying than high school. In college you need to study at least two hours for each class. The tests in college are longer and require you to really understand the material. Patience is key. Different teachers have different teaching styles. If your learning style doesn't match their teaching style, the class will be harder for you. It doesn't mean it's impossible, it just means you will have to work harder. You will have to be patient with your teachers. College is rough, but you can handle it.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior I would tell myself not to wait to go to college. I waited a year to go to college because I had a child and thought it would be better to wait until after he was born. That was my biggest mistake because it has taken me seven years being in and out of school to get this far and I dont even have my Associates Degree yet. I would tell myself to do whatever it took to go to school full time and work really hard to get finished so that I could have a career and be stable for my son. I would also tell myself that there is nothing more important than education and that the consequences for waiting to go to school are far worse than I thought. Being a mother and a waitress while still trying to go to school and get good grades is a struggle. Do it right, stay in school, and don't give up.

When I graduated high school I had taken many classes that could have gone toward college credit. Foolishly, I did not take advantage of that opportunity. I was questioning even going to college. If I could go back, I would explain to myself that I will end up going back to school and getting a bachelor's degree in Anthropology, which I had already been considering while in high school. I would tell myself to use all of those advanced classes for college credit, because who wants to take Calculus, Physics, and Chemistry again? I think putting it that way would really get the attention of that young kid known as my former self.
Also, I would tell myself to get ready to meet a ton of new people during my freshman year in college, and not to let that distract me as it clearly did. I would explain that years later I will come to understand the true meaning of discipline, and that it is neither smothering one's self strictly with work nor burning one's self out with fun, but a balance of the two. Of course, if I knew then what I know now.....

Katie Jean Billingsley. This is it. Your finally graduating...But then what? Where are you going? What are you going to do? How are you going to get there? First, just breathe. Its not as hard as everyone makes it out to be. You can do it! You don't need to have your whole future planned out right now! People of all ages still don't know what they want to be. Don't stress about the future. do what you need to do today to be ready for tomorrow. Take things one day at a time. Apply yourself to learn all that you can. Take every assignment to that next level to get you to where you want to be. You've got such a good head on your shoulders, show people what you can do. You've already achieved so much in life. This is just another step into your life. Your already heading in the right direction, so don't stress about the little things! Learn, have fun, and smile!

As a high school senior, it still wasn?t clear whether or not my family would be moving from Michigan to Arizona. I thought I would be attending school at Grand Valley State University. If I could travel back in time, I would certainly inform myself of the impending move. Upon arrival in Arizona, I knew nothing about the colleges around here, and because of the last-minute and rather hectic move I didn?t start school until the spring after my family moved here. Moreover, I would recommend really laying out my goals for the future; what my interests are, what kind of careers I might enjoy, and what kind of degrees would help me get to where I need to be. Currently my major is undecided, and I would advise my high school self to really aim to explore various careers and options, spending time at the college?s career center as soon as possible, and certainly consulting the academic advisors for help in reaching my academic goals.

I would tell myself to get more involved with school activities and also volunteer my time more outside of school to those who need it most. I was always so intimidated by college, like it was a whole other world. Truth is, it was another world, but a better one at that. I would have told myself to be more confident and set my worries aside. To not worry so much about what I would learn, the length of time I had to learn it, and my financial stability. If I would have applied myself then as I did this past year, nothing would have gotten in my way. I would like the opportunity to further my education in the healthcare field so I may learn new skills to help those who need it most.

When I was a junior in high school I remember everyone already beginning to freak out about college and what they were going to do in the years to come. Young and naive I didn?t think much of it until my second semester of senior year. Like most people I became frantic and wasted time not applying for schools or scholarships. Many of my friends were taking dual credit classes which I found to be unnecessary. Knowing what I know now I would have done SO many things differently. I would have applied for many more scholarships and applied for those "unnecessary" dual credit classes like English to finish faster. It would have saved me a lot more time and money. What I am glad that I did was the fact that I took math and science all four years which helped me pass out of lower math classes. I also would have told myself that maybe having a full time job straight out of high school and night school life was not going to be for me. So in conclusion more scholarships and dual-credit classes are what I would tell myself to do differently!

If I was to go back in time and have the ability to talk to myself, I would have to tell myself to study the basics a lot better than what I did. After you get the basics start on the more advanced courses toget a head start so I can be ahead of the game. There are alot of students that take classes and are not ready for them, they think that it will be the same as high school but it is not. I better grow up and start thinking as an adult, less partying and more studies will go a long way. When you get out on your own you have to more disiplined in your actions because all the choices you make will affect your life and what direction it takes.

Going back in time to my senior year in high school, hmm? in all reality I would really like to go back to my freshmen year in high school but for this paper I will stay with my senior year. I would tell myself to study harder and to stay in sports. I would also tell myself to try to get a scholarship so I would be able to go to college; seeing that both of my parents where drop outs. If I did go to college I could have a better life by now. I would also tell myself to stay away from the friends that I had in high school. Wow it is just like my parents told me and it is just like I?m telling my daughter now.
If I went after my dreams, perhaps we would not be in the position that we are in now. I also tell her that education is a very important tool for life. I feel this is just like an old saying ?If I knew back then, what I know now?. But it is never too late to go after your dreams.

If I was allowed to go back in time and talk to myself about college I would first tell myself to do the best I can in highschool for my senior year. I would also tell myself that taking the SAT and ACT are very important as well. While talking to myself I would also remind myself to always ask for help from my counselor, career center at the highschool I was attending, and also my parents, because college is a very big thing and a huge step in one's life and can impact the way I would get my education and start my own life and career.

If I could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior I would warn myself that high school is nothing like college. That in college there is way more work, reading and tests. Once you get into college it is all about school and no more joking around or missing class. In college you have to take everything way more serious because teachers don't give you 2-3 times to make up the work or tests, if you don't go to class and do that test or turn in that project, then there's no good grade. Overall, all that hard work and studying will be worth it at the end.

I would tell myself to be more outoing in college and to study harder.I would also tell myself to put money away so that it could start saving up and i would have more money to spend on food and books. Also, i would say to make more friends in college and go to study groups to get ahead and take harder class to get ahead and graduate early.
kiasha
I would definately tell myself that my parents dont always know whats best for me so i shouldnt let them choose what college i attend. I would also tell myself to be focused freshman year of college should be a breeze if i just keep grounded. I'd also tell myself more importantly make friends cause youll be miserable without them. Most importantly go to school out of Arizona stop being scared and make the plunge and go.

College libraries and professors have awesome resources; all you have to do is ask for help. Having smaller class sizes is valuable, as is choosing classes based on the professor. Find passionate professors, because they will be able to translate that passion to you and help you learn so much more. Tools like ratemyprofessor.com are really important for making the most of your tuition money.
The most important thing I would stress to my high school self is that travel is the best educator, so DO a study abroad program.
Get involved in extra curricular activities to find friends who are like-minded. Having good friends is essential to having a good life. By participating in out-of-the-ordinary activities you?ll also find networking opportunities.
All college campuses have unique things to offer, but to be happy in any school you must first be happy with yourself. Be happy with your classes and major, be happy with the job you are doing and the friends you surround yourself with, be at peace with your family and treat your body well, and you will love life anywhere you are.
Cara
Cara,
Life is full of exciting, sad, hilarious, spontaneous, magical and unimaginable times, none of these things will matter without your education. I understand that you have just spent the last twelve years slaving over books, hearing dad nag about your math grade and the horrific boring times sitting in Mrs. Alamys history class; but without these times you would not be where you are today. Continuing your education will not only bring you one step closer to achieving the life you wish for but also give you bring you one step farther then you were before. With a degree under your belt you can travel the world, live a simple blissful life without worry living your life dreams. With that degree you can have a career in wherever you wish, you can be happy. College is completely different from high school I promise, you have the freedom to make your own choices, you have the right to speak your opinion. College is a choice, a gift to yourself that should be accepted and used to the fulliest. Your life in college will be an experince you will never forget, I promise she would be proud.
Lyric
Lyric, you must perservere "self rescue" you are in charge of your education and future. You can succeed at anything if you are willing to work, study and aspire. Lyric, study longer and don't give up. If you maintain good grades the doors of oppertunity begin to open for you early. Progression is entirely up to you. Sucess is frightening however, failure states that you quit trying. Quitting is unacceptable a higher education is plausible and a means of success. Begin to organize neater and maintain steady studying habits. Inquire, if you are uncertain of which direction to go. If school begins to be difficult reach out ask questions seek tutors. Professors, advisors and students alike have many tools at their fingertips to ensure success in the future. My future is entirley left up to me and my wills at which to dispell it.
Mindy
I would advise myself that while yes choosing a career to help others is important, in the long run making money to support yourself is just as important for a satisfactory life and to choose wisely.
Cheryl
I would tell myself not to take too many classes while working full time because then I wouldn't have had to withdraw from the classes I did because I couldn't handle the load. Also to pick more online classes because it's easier to handle with work and friends.
