At Miami students work hard and play hard. We work very hard in school and party as much as we can. Students are generally very happy.

Miami is the perfect size, not too large that you are a number, but large enough to have a lot of options. The academic reputation is quite good for a public school and it is rising. People are impressed when I say I go to Miami, but it is not known well enough nation-wide yet. The administration is good in many areas. The president is excellent, he is always making rounds the campus and at sporting events. Miami has more pride than I have seen anywhere else and it shows. The City of Oxford is a "college town." There are bars, restaurants, bookstores, etc. all catering to the students. It is small but with a car, bigger cities are only like 30 miles away.

Miami is the perfect size. Its not a huge school but with 15,000 undergrad (i think?) it is still a big school. The best thing about Miami is that its a big school with a smaller feel. Since oxford is such a college town, you recogize a lot of people walking past them from day to day. Even if your from a big city, you grow to love the small town of oxford because of its personal feel. High street is a big hangout (bars, places to eat, shops, ect) and the place where most everyone on campus spends there weekend nights..and some (maybe too many) weekday nights too. Miami students have a lot of pride in their school, sports turnouts are not as good as some bigger schools but miami students do not hesitate to come out and support each other at sporting events and extra cirriculars

Miami is a great school. I've really enjoyed my time here so far. The college really makes the town. People will use the term the "Miami Bubble" and it's quite true. Oxford's closest city is Cincinnati which is about a 45 minute drive. Coming from a small town in the middle of nowhere, this didn't bother me, but I know some people who were accustomed to living near a city had a struggle to adjust to this.
Miami has a reputation for being an academically challenging school. It's true. The classes are tough. Not to say that college in general isn't difficult, but Miami sets the bar a little higher than many other schools. The business program is harder than you might imagine and what Miami is really known for (as well as their education department).
As far as student life... it's great. Dorm life was so fun. Off campus has been awesome. Whatever you are looking for, you will find. If you want to go out every night and party, you're at the right place. If you want quite peaceful nights, you've got that too. There is a little bit of something for everyone.

I think the best thing about Miami is the quality of education that I receive. My first semester in college I attended Cincinnati Christian University. I didn't feel like I was receiving quality education that would help me in my field of study. The next semester I transferred to Miami Hamilton and I was chanllenged in my studies from day one. I knew I was in the right place for me after just a week of classes. I think Miami Hamilton is just the right size. Its not overwhelming for a transfer student or an incoming freshman. When I tell people I attend Miami they are very impressed because they know Miami is a quality school.

the size is perfect! it is big enough so that you can see someone once and never see them again or you can see them everyday for the rest of the semester. Miami does not consist of all rich, preppy kids and even though there are some rich, preppy kids, it doesn't mean they are bad people. Everyone that i have met is nice and pretty down to earth.

In my opinion, the best thing about Miami is the campus. It is beautiful and the way it's setup it makes the college feel smaller than it is. The biggest recent controversy was a students art project fall semester 2007 that they thought was a hate crime but wasn't intended to be. There is a lot of school pride. People who go to Miami are very proud of it. The town that Miami is located in does not have anything going on. At all.

just the right size...beautiful campus, very clean

Miami is the perfect size and when I imagine a college... I picture something very similar to Miami. Uptown is so geared towards students its unreal. It's what you want a college town to have. (bars and pizza). The campus is beautiful when its warm and even sometimes in the snow. People don't always respond well when I tell them I go to Miami, sometimes it feels like I have to justify myself.
Andy
The campus is beautiful; the size of the student body is just right. Uptown Oxford has a lot of neat restaurants and bars. School spirit is lacking in most sports except for ice hockey.
