The students at my school are mixed and divided. They are one divided by where you are from, the students from NY hang together the students from DC hang together, etc. Though they are divided by region there is no tension or bad feelings toward each other , its simply because they feel most comfortable around each other. Their is also students who are associated through groups, organizations, and greek life. The school is divided by that as well those who are into extra-curricular things at school and those who only want to hang with their friends. Most students are friendly even though they might not be people you hang with everyday, everyone is social with each other. Freshman year their are usually alot of egos and fights seeing as though your young and never been around noone but those from your neighborhood. Not that you should feel threatened its only if you have that mindset.

The students at the school are definitely one of a kind. It's very rare to find two different individuals who act alike unless they are twins and even still, there would be differences. The student body of the university is mostly African-Americans, since the school is an HBCU. New students really should not feel out of place at this school simply because there is way to much individuality.

On any given day at Morgan State it is very likely that there will be interaction between students from many different countries around the world even though the majority of the students are African Americans. Absolutely no student feels out of place at the university because each student is an individual and is seen as such (race is not a factor).

The students at Morgan State university are quite diverse. Not only do they come from all over the country and the world, but they hold many different interests. On the whole, students are quite welcoming. I personally have never attended a course without making one or two friends. If there is a pecking order, I am yet to see it. I think this stems from the fact that most students come from the same socio-economic background. The student government and the student body are quite active politically. Professors and instructors also help to foster this behavior by engaging students in debates within the classroom. Students are encouraged to pay attention to the things happening around them.

I really feel left out of any group on campus. They all seem to be geared towards black people. I have looked into a few clubs, but they all state evensome in their title that they are for blacks. I feel out of place on campus, so I would say anyone who isn't black would feel somewhat not accepted. Most male students dress "hiphop", most female students dress nicely. Yes I see lots of interaction between people of all backgrounds. They are all black people talking loudly, dressed similarly. They do not acknowledge me, ever. Most students are from the surrounding area of Baltimore. Financial backgrounds are mostly from lower income households with a few prevalent students. I don't see many people on campus involved, or aware of the political ring. I haven't talked to anyone about their potential earnings. I think most people are just happy to survive their classes.

Morgan students come from various backgrounds. Some people consider it to be one of the best schools for international students. To a very large extent, I agree! Funding is not limited to US citizens alone, but is available to many international students. The religious atmosphere at Morgan allows for people to acknowledge and serve God as they want without infringing on the rights of others. Students are free to dress casually to class, and formally for presentations. The interaction among students of various backgrounds encourages relationship building and a broadnin of every student's knowledge base about other cultures. Most students are confident that they if they put in their best at MSU, they stand a chance of being hired by the best employers. Many Morgan alumni have such a great sense of pride in Morgan that they return to donate funds to enable other students complete their studies. These alumni work in places such as Ernst and Young, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, among others.

The students here at Morgan are very diverse. Yes, MSU is a HBCU or HBI but we do have students that are well known and liked that are from other countries. The student body as whole has a very open mind. You can find people who have nothing alike in their appearance, having a conversation on any given day about how much they will earn, or about politics or even sports. There are different social groups here on campus that I would recommend to anybody just to better the college experience. Fashion is big on campus I would say depending on the day. Mondays, Wednesday, and of course Fridays you can catch a lot people on campus dressed fashionably. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays you will see the majority of people dressed real relaxed in sweats for an example.

Chakiris

There is a multitude of students on campus. There are age variances between students fresh from high school, middle age, seniors and in between. There is something to do in every age range here at Morgan State from arcade rooms to relaxation rooms. Moreover, there are a multitude of fraternities and sororities. No matter what one is looking for it is here.

I honestly think that Morgan is a place where anyone and everyone will feel welcomed. People hear the words Historically Black College and automatically think that there are only African American students at the school; that couldn't be any further from the truth. Morgan's campus host all ethnicities and people from all walks of life. Even LGBT students feel comfortable enough on campus to be themselves and not have to worry about constantly defending who they are. It all goes back to that family feel. You can be yourself around family; and at Morgan State University we are family.

Oluwatobi

There are no problems with racial, religious, LGBT, socio-economic groups in my school. None should but maybe a White student. Most student dress normal to class but the girls sometimes dress like they are going for a party. Yes different types of student interact a lot at my school. The Four tables might be mostly African Americans. Most students are African Americans and the others Africans. Students are politically aware. No I rarely see students talking about their earnings everyday.

Dorien

Their is quite a bit of diversity at Morgan State University. The majority of the student population is African American, as Morgan is an HBCU (Historically Black College/University), however, we have a diversity mix of well-traveled students from across the world ranging from Europe, Africa and the Middle east. The majority of students who attend Morgan State University come from Middle Class homes so though everyone has their own personality and swag, most are humble individuals who are willing to help their fellow student. For example, I was in the bookstore last semester and a student saw that I was purchasing a book that he had in his car to sell to the university. We exchanged numbers and he gave me the book to use for the semester that way I didn't spend $200 on a new book.
