Oklahoma State University-Main Campus Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about Oklahoma State University-Main Campus?

Collin

The most frustrating thing about the school is not necessarily about the campus its self. It would have to be the price to attend. School is so expensive now days but it is definitely worth it to be part of such a good campus.

Katherine

The most frustrating thing about my school is the out-of-state tuition rate.

Rebecca

My university doesn't resolves issues quickly or with the best method. For example, we had a water safety issue for several months. There was also a person in the library sexually harassing students, but the warning given out said nothing about what the situation at the library was.

Nicholas

The most frustrating about Oklahoma State is its location. the closet major city to Stillwater is Oklahoma City, which 1.5 hours away. If you do not bring a car to college, then you will not be able to travel to the big city.

Christine

The most frustrating thing about my school is the fact that it cost so much to attend.

Lesley

The class sizes are huge, and that can be frustrating. Sometimes it's hard to have a relationship with professors because they can have hundreds of students at a time.

Abbey

The ONLY negative thing about my school was the cost. Other than how expensive it was, it was the perfect school.

Chelsea

The most frustrating thing about my school is the advisors. I just completed my freshman year, and I have already had two advisors. They both we aware of my uncertainty on a major, yet they still filled my schedule with major specific classes. Enrolling for my sophomore year, I changed my major one final time. At the end of my freshman year I had completed 28 hours, and only 9 of those hours count towards my major. Therefore, I have to take maximum hours every semester in order to graduate on time. Oklahoma State needs advisors that actually advise.

There is not much to get frustrated about at Oklahoma State. What more could you ask for? There is Big 12 Football, a fountain in front of a beautiful library that is often dyed orange, one of (if not) the largest Student Union in the US, and many other great aspects. But, when there is a weekend with a home football game, all of Stillwater becomes practically immobile. If too many people are in Stillwater at one time, making a left hand turn becomes very difficult and close to impossible.

Ashley

I find the professors to be pretty frustrating for the most part. I have had a few that are great. But in general, when it comes to particular courses, you don't get much attention from the professors.

Jessica

The most frustrating thing would probably have to be the parking. If you work late then there's a chance you will have to park a ways from your dorm, and if you leave during the morning for something then you will most likely have to park in overflow, a good walk from your class.

allison

The most frustrating thing is parking, there is barely any parking places except at my dorm, at least there are free campus buses that run about every 15 minutes. otherwise, I'm walking which is definatly good excersice because campus is really big!

Rebecca

Dealing with extreme Oklahoma weather - walking to class in 100+ degree heat or class being cancelled due to ice storms.

Amanda

The small dorm rooms and my chemistry 1 class of 225.

Maggie

The most frustrating thing about my school is parking. I live on campus, and the parking is absolutely horrible; I have heard it is not much better for commuters. Supposedly this is the largest freshman class OSU has had in years, and it definitely shows in the dorm parking lots. There are days and nights I spend 10 to 20 minutes looking for a parking spot and I very often have to park in overflow lots, which are not located very close to where I live.

Ashley

A lot of activities are centered around fraternity/sorority affairs

Megan

I think the best thing about my school are all the friendly faces you encounter. You will always meet someone nice that you can hang out with and the people are always welcoming and warm to everyone. I fit right in with people when I came to school not knowing a soul.

Keith

The two main complaints are that one the school is heavily greek influenced,so those choosing to not be members of greek life have a harder time socially. Secondly if a freshman chooses to be undecided, the counselors get frustrated and arent as helpful as they would be to a decided student.

Kerstien

The size of classes is not the ratio I had expected in enrolling. Many of the basic classes are auditorium style with 200+ students and one poorly delivering professor.

Clint

As with most universities or colleges, properly managing your time can often become a huge problem. With all of the extracurricular activities and clubs, not to mention the distractions of your friends and roommates, finding the time to sit down on your own and focus on your academics peacefully can be a real headache. This situation is by far the thing that I have found the most frustrating in while college experience.
