Both of my parents are Oklahoma state alumni, so being a supporter of the cowboys runs in the genes. My parents constantly tell me stories and explain to me the fun that they had at OSU while still getting an amazing learning experience. I've been going to games ever since I was a kid and as I get older, I've grown to appreciate it more and more. I appreciate not only the fun, but also the beautiful campus that hosts all the fun. I decided to go to Oklahoma state because it truly is a place that feels like home to me. I never feel like I'm alone when I'm there because anyone I have run into has been kind and welcoming. OSU also has many shops and stores close by which gives me a peace of mind knowing that if I need something quickly, I have a place nearby. This outgoing, nature based campus has been a place I have always wanted to call my home and this fall, I officially can.

Oklahoma State University-Main Campus is a lively college located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The town alone is a great place to reside and is the perfect example of a friendly college town. The game days are intense and the fanbase is strong. Everyone bleeds orange here!

I love it, I have visited multiple times and fell in love more each time. The campus is a good size and very easy to navigate through and has many resources. The people have very open arms to new people and are very motivating and encouraging. The atmosphere is amazing and everyone will love it if they go!

Oklahoma State University was absolutely gorgeous! I loved seeing students walking around the campus and studying in the library. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and informative. I can see the school pride in the students, and am excited for my next visit in September!

It is an amazing school which focuses on engineering, sports, Business, health sciences, etc. I love OSU they have a beautiful campus and I actually want to attend their within the next few years. I believe that OSU is a place that will lead me to my goals and let me have a wonderful life. I've always wanted to go to OSU for mechanical engineering. I've been there a couple of times. One time I went there with my S.T.E.M. class at my tech center. I believe that OSU is right for me.

this place is overall the most amazing and fun place i think i have ever been to, they’re are so many things to do outside the classroom and so many places to explore i love it. The classes aren’t too hard and with the professors it helps so much since they always help you.

I feel that this campus is a great place to grow and learn new things. Which is all important to me and should be important to others. The campus has most of the resources you need for all your help and concerns. They make sure to help take care of you when you are in need.

Quite high! I have been coming to games here since I was 10 months old so you could say that I grew up in the "Cowboy Way!" Our homecoming celebration in the fall is the highlight of the year. The celebration takes just over a week but takes 3 months to prepare for! We have a carnival, philanthropy activities to raise money for various charities, parade, build homecoming house decks, parade floats, & boards all showing off the theme of homecoming for the year. Having it in the fall allows you to get into your college experience quickly! No one tailgates like Oklahoma State! On game days for football, baseball, or softball tailgaters line the walkways with friendly fans loaded down with yummy food which they offer to every college kid who walks by! Once in the game, we are a rowdy crowd which also makes life at OSU so much fun! The people at OSU are relaxed, pleasant, friendly, and the town is so homey! Stillwater has all of the creature comforts of home!

I love being a student at OSU! I love the students I have met, my professors, the resources I am given there, and even the beautiful campus. The architecture program is tough work, but my peers and professors push me to create great work! My professors for the studio have always been there to support me and encourage me when academics get hard!

I think that Oklahoma State is a great school. The campus is nice and the people are nicer. People normally love OSU because of how nice everyone is and the small town vibe. Stillwater is very small and if you're looking for a place that feels like home while being a division 1 school, this is your place. There isn't a lot to do on weekends where the aren't games or some event going on.
Emilee - 02/13/2024
I love the campus as a whole, and I think it is one of the most beautiful campuses in America. I visited during homecoming week, and even with everything going on during the week, the campus was very clean. I also feel very safe at Oklahoma State; all the lights up and down the streets and the 911 emergency buttons help me feel very safe. I am a senior in high school right now, and I will be attending Oklahoma State University in the Fall of 2024.

So far being a freshman on campus is amazing! There are plenty of clubs and organizations you can join, and it is like one giant family. It is a walking campus, but there are free bus services as well as rental scooters and bicycles. There are a variety of campus housing options as well as accommodations for those who may need it.

Here in Stillwater, Oklahoma is the home of the main campus of Oklahoma State University (OSU). I grew up on campus, the beautiful scenery and all of the students who are friendly as can be make OSU a wonderful place to study, learn, and live. Stillwater is not only the home of OSU but also the home to a vibrant community that has endless offers of a wide range of activities and events.
Moriah - 09/21/2023
I absolutely love Oklahoma State University-Main Campus, the people here are amazing and make you feel welcomed. The campus is large but easy to navigate as well as beautiful buildings. There are also groups and clubs for everyone to feel included and it is like home away from home.
JaDen - 07/30/2023
I love the campus and not only that, the people there are amazing. I went on the tour and fell in love with everything there, the campus, the people, and the vibe that the school was giving off. Just a few weeks later I came back to the campus for my freshman orientation and fell in love with the campus all over again. The people giving us the tour were so full of life and gave great advice on how to cope with being in a brand new environment at the school. The rooms may have been a bit small, but it didn't matter because we were only there for one night. Anyways the rest of orientation was stupendous and if I could do it again I would. There's nothing I would change about the school what so ever. I just wish there was a way for me to be able to afford my tuition to stay all four years at this amazing school.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Oklahoma State University-Main Campus is 74%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.
What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
The decision to attend college and complete a degree was journey that can only be understood by those who have experienced it first hand. College not only prepared me academically for the workforce, it also developed my maturity and interpersonal skills. I was constantly challeged intellectually by my professors who were not only instructors, but also motivators. I was able to interact with different personalities, socio-economic backgrounds, and ethnicities which allowed me to understand and relate to these different perspectives and backgrounds. College also gave me experience in fiscal responsiblility to manage limited financial resources.
The value of a college education should not be underestimated. The value is not only limted to increased income potential, but also includes obtaining an increased sense of self awareness as well as developing positive social relationships. Attending college has allowed me to achieve financial goals as well as understand that I have a social and ethical responsibility to society. It also has helped me to understand that attending college and attaining a degree is something that should be advised to anyone who has not had the experience.
Students at Oklahoma State are overwhelmingly pleasant. While walking to class, students often share smiles, say hello, or even introduce themselves. Here at OSU you will often find people opening doors for one and other and exibiting excellent manners. Furthermore, the majority of students are involved in clubs or organizations that are often raising awareness or doing projects on campus. During the spring and fall seasons you will find students relaxing on the library lawn reading a book, playing frisbee, tossing a football around, or eating ice cream. The student body at OSU is undeniably incredible.
What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?
I wish I had learned more from my high school education. I didn't go to a very good school, so I missed out on a lot that was later provided to me through my college education.
Here's your chance: Say anything about your college!
We are a tobacco free campus and also one of the healthiest campuses in Oklahoma. Our gym, which is named the Colvin Center, is huge and inviting. We are a very safe campus, security will walk you to your dorm any time from seven to three a.m.
I believe the best thing about Oklahoma State University is its school unity. Although I am not a big fan of sporting events, I believe it is these events that bring together the student body. The alumni are very devoted to OSU, proving that there is something about this school that embeds a loyalty to its past and previous students.
What do you brag about most when you tell your friends about your school?
I brag about how I love the campus, some of the skills that I have learned from my former classes (i.e. computer literacy and interpersonal skills). I like the fact that prior to graduating, I was able to meet up with advisors who helped me not only with my resume but with helping me realize what type of career I should pursue.
What kind of person should not attend this school?
People who want to express themselves in the way they dress may not want to come to this school because a large group of the students here are very judgemental. I have seen groups of girls stare at people and laugh just because that person may not be wearing what they believe to be "cool." This is not always the case but I would not want to see this happen to someone who was not expecting it.
Students from all around the United States and even in some other countries attend OSU, and the best way i can describe the campus is "smart". All the way from the very intellectual professors to the exam acing students, i consider OSU very knowledgeable. So if i could give any advice to future students planning on attending college I would have to say, come prepared. College is definitely not something just to blow off, but it's something to embrace in memories as a place where you meet knew people and aquire a larger view and knowledge of the world.
What is the stereotype of students at your school? Is this stereotype accurate?
I don't think they're are many stereotypes at our school except for a few. There are of course the frat students who despite the common perception of partying all the time only represent a few of the entire frat students. Secondly, the athletes of the school who are praised in every way as sports is a pretty important subject over here.
The best thing about this school is the diversity and you never know who your going to meet and what their backgrounds are. The Oklahoma State University is a nice size, it's not to big and it's not to small. You can walk from one side of campus to the other in about 12 minutes, I don't think that's bad at all. Every time Oklahoma State University is brought up it's always in a positive manner. I have never heard anyone say any negative remarks about Oklahoma State University. I think this is an aspect that Oklahoma State needs to be proud of. The school pride is not just throughout the students, but it has overflowed in the town of Stillwater. I have never seen a town support their university as much as the people here do. Every Friday during the football season, you will see over half the students wearing the bring color orange in support of the football players and the up coming game. The unique thing about the town of Stillwater is that even if you are not the legal age of 21 there is still activities and places that you can go enjoy yourself and have a good time. An example is that Tumbleweed, this place has concert on a every other week basis and there is a dance floor where you are free to show off the moves you do or don't have.
What are the most popular student activities/groups?
Sports activites are very popular whether it is from watching the football games on the weekend to joining an intramural team. Along with the Colvin Recreation center where many students are involved. Also, sororities and fraternities are a big hit. They put on a ton events throughout the school year and are very involved. Library Lawn is a popular place throughout the year whether there is an event there or just going out there to play with your dog, playing catch with a friend or having a picnic. The campus is always active. There are even a ton of events that the gym puts on including themed 5k runs, weightlifting clubs, climbing or hiking events. You name it, OSU is most likely doing it.
I like all the classes within the Animal Science and Agricultural Communication majors because I am passionate about the Agriculture and everything that is included.
Stillwater is a college town. That is the way it is. So there is TONS of activities for the college students here. We can go bowling, watch movies, Frisbee or regular golf, and don't even get me started on the restaurants... There are no joke 8 Subways that I know of, 3 Sonics, 2 McDonalds, I have no clue how many pizza places there are here. The other thing you will find is friendly people. Stillwater is becoming a very popular retirement city. So there are tons of nice people moving in to settle down for the rest of there lives. Stillwater outside of OSU is a very pleasant place to be.
Change is a funny thing. It is hard for the person to notice the change that is taking place in them, at least it is for me. But I know that I have changed. I think everyone will to some extent. You go from living at home with parents, grandparents, or something similar to being more like on your own. It is a very maturing experience.
I think it's tied between weather and parking. Oklahoma has really hot summers, extremely cold winters, hail, tornados, ice storms, heat waves, and extreme wind. Were as parking on campus is incredibly overbooked, to the point I've even heard rumors that they are no longer allowing freshman to have cars.
