Quinnipiac University Top Questions

Is the stereotype of students at Quinnipiac University accurate?

Dana

Mostly. There are a few people who are down to earth and very friendly but many people are clicky and rude.

Amanda

Yes and no. There are many students at QU that are rich and spoiled, but there are also many that are not. I met many wonderful and down to earth people, but you have to look for them. Many students rely on their parents for spending money and virtually all bills.

Ryan

Yes, for the most part. What is overlooked is the growing number of Health Science students - dedicated, studious, focused, academic kids who are in college to focus on their courses as a priority.

Amanda

there are those types of people around but as a person from not a rich home i don't feel any discrimination from other students

Brittany

For the majority of the students yes, sadly they are.

Elizabeth

somewhat

Harper

I find that the girl guy stereotypes are very true but you can find people not like that, but not nearly as many. The stereotype that our school is in the middle of nowhere is definitely not true. we are near new haven, and many bars, malls and highways that will get you where you want to go, no doubt that there is always something to do around here. About the school spirit... sure we go to hockey games and baseball games, but its not as crazy peppy as you think. As far as the clothing stereo type, OH yeah, its rare to see someone without a northface fleece or back pack, or a girl without uggs or ripped abercrombie jeans, a guy without a baseball cap... but luckily there are not really any popped collars, i think that phase is long gone.

Caitlin

Yes.

Adam

Yes and no. I don't think Quinnipiac is as Apathetic as it is made out to be, but yes Quinnipiac is predominately white and it seems that everyone is the same, but you just need to look deeper to see the real side to people.

becky

The majority of the kids have money, but it isn't an uncomfortable situation. Most kids where Abercrombie uggs and flip flops. A lot of people are also from MA.

Sarah

Not exactly. While there are a decent number of students who fit this stereotype, some do not.

Lisa

Not exactly. QU is a predominantly white school, but it's a friendly campus. A lot of kids do dress the same (Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister, etc.) though. As far as the party school stereotype goes, a lot of Quinnipiac students do party, but it's not everyone, and they make sure to keep that separate from their schoolwork.

Ryan

For the most part yes, but not everyone here is a millionaire. And some girls are stuck up.

Patrick

The girls here are fun to be around, and there are definetly some girls here that are more promiscuous that others. Some of us don't see the big picture in life, but our campus is growing into a more universal place to be. We seem to all be all white rich kids at first, and though we do have a large population of that, we have normal people, just like you and me too.

Brette

No. There is a portion of these students that fit the stereotype but there are a large amount that do not.

Sarah

not entirely

Ryan

Not entirely.

Stephanie

Yes, for the most part

Kristen

While the majority of students are white and from well-off families, there is some diversity throughout the campus and everyone is really nice.
