This school is really for anyone, whether you did alright in high school or very well, it's all what you make of the opportunities laid before you. I'd say this is the perfect school for an average student who has many interests both in and out of the classroom. There are many majors offered here so there's a large array of paths you can take.

A person that wants to achieve their goal of graduating college and wanting to make something out of their life. One that wants to succeed and gain experience and throughout their years in college.

You should attend this school if there is a major you are interested in.

If someone is looking to attend UA, they should be open minded and unafraid of new experiences and people. The University is HUGE which means that there is somewhere for everyone to fit in; you just have to be willing to find your niche. As a transfer student living off campus, it was difficult for me to make frineds at first, but then I started introducing myself to classmates and consequently gained many friendships that extended outside of the classroom.

An outgoing , academically focused person

Someone who is social or who is looking to be social should attend SUNY Albany. They should enjoy living in a somewhat urban area. Students should have an open mind to new things.

Very focused

People attending this school should have a strong desire to engage in different cultures, political mindsets, and religious principles. There is a focus on reaching out from your personal "bubble" inorder to better understand and relate to the world. As a liberal arts school, SUNY Albany's goal is to form well rounded individuals ready for the work place. However, being ready for the work place is not everything at Albany, and there are many programs which encourage people to interact on levels beyond career orientated activities. People attending this school should be driven to grow!

anykind of person! there are many, many different kinds of people here, anyone would fit right in, unless you prefer a small, intimate school.

A student who likes getting involved in activities would like it here. We have a large number of clubs and organizations here on campus, and in addition, a very active community with plenty of opportuntities to get involved. You need to like the cold and have your own car or rely on busses that run between the college and the mall and downtown.
