The worst thing about Temple is the absence of real work opportunity and faculty assistance in networking. I followed up after my first year with the head of my department and tried to network with her for jobs and prospective opportunities and she gave me the advice of working for Habitat for Humanity, while I work a basic nine to five in order to afford schooling. It does not work, you pay H4H money in order to work for free in these times its bogus.

The social life is so great that sometimes it is hard to focus on your academics.

The university needs to do a better job of checking up on some of the professors. Some professors dont speak english very well or have aged so much that they can no longer teach the class effectively or understand the questions they are asked. If a professor teaches a class poorly and fails students, there is nothing a student can do about their grade apart from taking the class again with another professor.

The worst thing about my school is that the surrounding off-campus parts of the school are unsafe, which like I said before is very unfortunate. I expierence that first hand, as I lived in an off-campus house and my friends and I were robbed at gunpoint. The whole expierece was very frightening, I hope no one ever expierences what my friends and I did. It is unfortuante that college students who are there to get an education have to be 100 percent aware of their surroundings once they venture off-campus becauase it's not safe off-campus.

The worst part about my school is the size. Some of the classes have hundreds of kids which makes it harder to learn and easier to skip class. Also, since it is such a well known school, the curriculum is hard...and it keeps getting harder.

The surrounding neighborhood has a very high crime rate and violence is prevalent.

The school is right in the middle of the city so it is hard to have a sense of school spirit because your located in a major city with about 10 other schools located in the same area.

The worst thing about TU is the financial aid office. They really don't seem to care and want to help students when we go with problems to them.

i feel like more can be offered to the students.....Especially the departments for the different majors

I would have to say, the counseling services aren't the best. Advice wise advisors are great. But it can be a huge hassle to get an appointment. Sometimes you have to show up as early as 7:30 am to get an appointment for that day, and even if you do make it to sign up early, once the time slots are gone you have to wait until the next day to try again, because they won't let you make an appointment for the following day even though you are already there. More finanical aid never hurt either!

There are a lot of really, really, dim people. Temple lets too many dumb people in.

Things can vary. Some professors are truly amazing while others suck.

Available on campus housing was limited and privately owned housing apartments were overpriced given their quality. It was hard for me to fully focus on my studies because of my financial situation and having to find a way to afford to stay in school. I had to personally work with the now retired financial aid director to find a way to stay in school. I was able to make it through, but it seriously did affect my psyche and just in school overall. I really hope that my future in graduate school is not as much of a struggle.

The surrounding neighborhood is kind of rough, so it seems unsafe but campus security does a wonderful job in assisting all those on campus grounds.

I honestly have no complaints about temple

Student financial services takes you on a wild goose chase trying to figure out your bills against your financial aid packages and they don't tell you about every scholarship, grant, loan you can apply for. Dining services could be a lot better as well. The dance department is not up to par.
