What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Nothing. I came for the experiance and the adventure of not knowing anyone or anything and growing as a person and learning so much, I knew plenty about my program and the school to know it was the right fit for me.

Before attending my University, I learned a little bit about what my school offered to undergraduates, specifically freshman, such as tutoring, activities, groups, etc. What I wish I had known a bit more about was where everything was located on campus. By now, I know where everything is located, but I do believe it might have been easier for me to get around campus if I had familiarized myself with maps of the campus or the buildings on campus beforehand.

1.) That the overall GPA is 2 points higher than most schools (92 instead of 90)

I found it hard to make the adjustment from the community college I attended to a private university. The workload was much heavier but I adjusted well and was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA dispite working, going to school full time, traveling two hours and day and raising a family as a single mom. I've learned more self control at the University of Tampa than I have at any other school I've attended.

I wish they would tell you how they placed you into your rooms. My first semester roommate was horrible.

That the majority of the kids who come here are from the east coast of the united states. Lots of New Yorkers. But it is Tampa fun in the sun. And if you want to study hard you can here if you want to party hard you can do that also just dont expect to be around for very long.
