My classmates are very diverse; most with the drive to learn and succeed, but a good amount who are in college for the wrong reasons.

Honestly, I have a great classmates who are willing to learn.

The student body is pretty diverse. All cultures are welcome and expressed evenly. Many people are quite nice and helpful.

The dress code is so random. A lot of students like me don't care about impressing anyone and can wear hoodies and sweat pants, but some care too much and dress up or even try to make their hoodies and sweats look good. A lot of students like to get involved in something, but you can easily slide by without doing anything. But, doing something motivates you to work hard and the people you meet are perks.

My classmates are a very diverse crowd of people from different backgronuds who have had a wide range of personal expierences, but key students standout from the rest of the student body because they are either more knowledgeable & have a greater understand of course concepts and others take greater roles as leaders in seperate groups & organizations on campus.

My classmates are friendly and eager to help one another.

The teacher preperation program at Towson University included cohorts of aspiring teachers. The classmates in my cohort became a family. We as a ‘family’ of future teachers held on to each other as we battled waves of assignments, teaching observations, and the usual ups and downs of being student teachers. We went through a lot of struggles and shared many successes. The challenges and the experiences we underwent as a cohort continue to be the glue that connects us all to this day. As a group of teachers, we continue to rally around each other on good and bad days.

They are somewhat conservative and keep to themselves if they dont know you.

We have a very diverse campus. We have international students from all over, on top of people from all over the US. Even though we have a lot of students from all over we do have a major part of the student body coming from Maryland, New York, and New Jersey. We also have students from different economic backgrounds. Three of my friends are here on scholarships and federal work study, a guy on my floor has his parents paying for all his college expenses and there is a girl on my floor who goes home to work on the weekends so that she can help her family pay for bills. I myself have met people who are different religions than me, who have different race, political views, and sexual-orientation than I am and I can call many of them my friends. They have taught my a lot about different cultures and religious views and I have grown as a person because of it. An interesting aspect about my school is how people dress. We are just as mixed as we were back in high school. You still have the people who dress to impress, wearing khakis/dress pants and button ups/collared shirts to class or a skirt and nice top, the people who look like they just rolled out of bed (bed hair and pj bottoms) and the in-between. My classes alone are diversely dressed. Everyone wears what ever they want but the majority still sport something Towson related, be it a sweater or zip up, or a Greek t-shirt or Towson hat. Either way I always just dress however I feel comfortable in that day.

There are all kinds of groups on campus and they care very much about what they stand for. Ive attended some events by groups and feel that they are very friendly people for the most part and just want to get the word of their group out to others. Students who would feel very out of place would probably be the super genius kind. As for dress I have seen everything from sweats and hair pulled up to high heels skirts and a nice blouse. Students wear whatever their mood feels. Different types of students certainly do interact. Personally I have a wide variety of friends here. In the dinning hall you might have a group from one of the sports teams, the really artsy kids, the random group of friends who just rolled out of bed and the single person trying to get some work done while eating. Most of the students here are from Maryland, New York and New Jersey. I would say that the middle class is the most prevalent financial background. Students here are all over the map with politics. We have clubs for both republicans and democrats and they try to educate students on the importance of voting. Students usually dont talk about future salaries.

My classmates are usually typical American teenagers stuck in their own silly little worlds of music, alcohol and entertainment.

There is an outlet at Towson for any and every social group. Everything from LGBT to Hillel, to out of state or out of country students. If there is not an already existing outlet, one can easily be created. Towson is extremely diverse, and there is a place for every kind of student. Students wear any and everything they want to class. There is plenty of space for free expression. Different types of students do interact, many clubs colaborate, and a lot of the time people make friends in class. Most students are from Maryland, or New York/New Jersey. Financial backgrounds tend to vary at Towson. I have met many wealthy out of state people, there are a lot of people who went to community college for 2 years to save money, and of course the in between people. Finances do not really affect social groups. This is not a very political campus, there is a mix of political backgrounds, mostly left leaning though. However, there are not many people participating in the occupy movement. I hear more emphasis on people finding the job they want, rather than the pay they want (namely education majors)

A lot of students are from New York and New Jersey, as well as Maryland, Pennsylvania. Students wear anything from t-shirts and sweats, to dressy clothes to class. It really depends on your plans for the day. There are a lot of jocks, and sorority and fraternity members.

A lot of the students stay in their own click, but when you get to know the students it's another story; many of the students are down to earth and nice. The diversity amongst Tiwson's students is vast; there are many different ethnicities and cultures. I find that a majority of students commute and lots of students are from out of state. When students come to class it is often rare to see more than five students wearing sweatpants or sleepwear. Mostly everyone wears jeans, pretty casual.
