The best thing about my school is the atmosphere. The students are all there for the same reason and ready to learn. You dont have to worry about the immaturity that high school brings and you can really focus. The students are also very helpful towards one another and willing to helpeach other succeed. You get a feeling of comfort and it really calms you to know that there are other students just like you who need help as well.

My school is small. For many people who enjoy a fast paced lifestyle, this is not the school for them. However it is the school for me. The class sizes are very personal. The professors have real jobs in the city I live in that have to do with their line of teaching. Since the college is not their main form of income (usually) the students are aware of the fact that they teach for the enjoyment of it rather than teaching because they have to. I have attended a large university and the teachers never even learn my name.

I attend a local community college. Hands down, the best aspect of this is the diversity of the student body. Universities sometimes feel monochromatic...mostly recent high school graduates. In reno, nevada, a relatively small town with a relatively conservative population, this means mostly american and caucasian. At Truckee Meadows, I have the oppertunity to meet and talk with people from all over the world. Last semester, I met a girl from Tazmania and another from Lithuania! This world is amazingly diverse and I love that I get to see and appreciate that every day that I am on campus.
