UC Davis is a college town ,based on student life in a smaller city that is geared toward the college and the experiences of the students that go there.

We are one of the few remaining college towns in the US. The community service work we do directly affects the city with a instant and noticible impact. The best part is that by the end of your year, people will know you on a first name basis and you feel really connected to the town as well as the university.

It's close to home and my sisters' visit often. They have good programs and opportunities.

I'm especially interested in working with animals, and the agricultural and animal sciences are the best here of any UC. In the end, the specificity of the biology programs at Davis helped me choose it over the other UCs, including Berkeley. I chose Davis over other non-UCs with comparable programs due to its focus on academics and especially research.

UC Davis is probably the only UC that has a very strong student community, everyone is really nice and is not extremely competitive like UCLA or Berkely, so make friends, and don't be shy! Otherwise you'll feel pretty depressed if all you do is sit in the dorm and study.

It is more secluded (small town) than other Universities that I hear about, so this changes the dynamics of social life and the academic atmosphere. I do like the academic atmosphere that is here at Davis. It filters out a lot of the distractions that other schools may have due to being in a city.

It has a very small town feel to it and is a comfortable place to be in.

Campus is the largest UC and has an arboretum that runs through campus.

We have alot of animals and alot of nature and it's in a pretty laid back town.

It's very spread out, which is intimidating at first. The first time I walked on campus the amount of bicycles was scary and cool at the same time. The Animal Science department is amazing, there is so much hands on stuff you get to do while you are still a lower classman.

We take environmental awareness to another level, sporting many entirely green facilities including our new Aggie Stadium. We have a very distinguished internship and career center that places the majority of undergraduates in jobs and interships in fields that they are interested in (even undergraduate research positions). Many of the students on campus take advantage of study abroad programs or travel on their own. We are located in one of the last college townes in the nation, which fosters a positive environment for students.

The city revolves around the student life.

The radio station, KDVS 90.3FM is probably the best thing in northern California outside of the bay area. The things that this community offers is unparralleled, and the things that I've learned from being a part of this, I am eternally grateful for. I've seen some of the most amazing shows an heard the most amazing music of my life, as well as learned life long skills. It's really amazing and it's the only reason I really love living in Davis.

The atmosphere around the campus focuses the students on academics and human interaction.

The school has an environment that closely resembled that of my home town so it made my transition into college much smoother than if I would have gone to UCLA or UC Berkeley.
