If I could, I would have told myself that everything will work itself out. I was not in the best mental state to take on higher education. I would have told myself, to let myself grow up a little bit and mature in order to get the full benefit of a college education and to have the maturity to truly focus on the studies at the University.

If I could go back in time, and talk to myself, I would do a few things different. First, I would have told myself to take more than just two dual credit courses. Second, I would tell myself to save more of my money because its very hard to pay for school right now. Even though I'am bearly making it by, I will never give up on my chance to get a good education, and become a laywer. And plus, I will never give up becuase my mother taught me to never be a quitter. I pretty much pay for eveything by myself except for financial aid paying for half of my tuition. That's all I would want to go back in time and change.

Have a plan! To make the most of your college experience you must be reaching for a goal and have at least a preliminary plan in place to achieve it. Keep as many options open as possible in case your first plan does not work out. Stay active physically because the stress of college is so much greater than that you have had to face in high school. Physical activity helps relieve the stress and keeps you in good physical health. Choose a career that fits your interests and is one for which there is demand. No matter how much you love to do something if it does not lead into a career that is in demand you will not be able to survive. Having taken care of your mind (education) and body (exercise), do forget to take care of your spirit. Many students forget this and end up depressed and dissatisfied with their lives even though they are academically and physically fit. Have a plan and take care of the whole man and you will be on the path to a successful college experience and career.
