This school is so huge that it has a place for everyone. It is very diverse and has a huge array of student organizations for everyone. Students are very politically aware/active but I have not noticed the student body to be dominantly democratic or republican. Many financial and cultural backgrounds are represented and all interact with each other!

My classmates are focused, hard-working people who at the same time are kooky and fun-loving, and almost always easy to get along with.

Awesome and diverse. You can find what you're looking for. The majority of the student body is a certain type, but everyone is out there and they find each other.

For the most part, its def pretty diverse. But based on where you live on campus, it can get pretty tough. There are def stereotypes for who lives where, for on campus at least.

Sadly, I don't know my classmates very well because I've been isolated for a while and have poor social skilles, but in general they seem friendly and helpful.

My classmates in my engineering class I have known for 4 months now. Of course every student is different but the ones that really care about this subject like I do, are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. The classmates that I have are very friendly and outgoing and have turned into friends very easily. It may, at first, be hard in some big classes, but keep your head up high and you'll make friends in no time. Just be outgoing and don't be afraid to speak up.

UMass Amherst is one of the most diverse school I have ever been to. There is no way to descibe the students in 100 words since UMass caters to every gender, race, sexual orientation, family background there is.
