There are groups for just about any and everything you could think of on campus. Greek life is extremely popular at Mizzou, so I would consider fraternities and sororities to have the largest student body involvement. That being said, just because you are in a fraternity or sorority doesn't mean you cannot be involved in other groups as well. Each college within the university has their own student council organization which is a great way to get further involved in your major. Intramural sports teams are also very popular and are a great way to have fun with your friends or to meet new people.

The most popular groups on campus are the ones that are Greek affiliated. They are expensive though, so I suggest finding other organizations. There are a lot of service organizations, such as Mizzou United Way. The Student Center has the offices of the Wellness Center and the Women's Center. The Wellness Center educates students on drugs and alcohol. The Women's Center holds many events that empower women. Students can make friends without joining an organization. In most of the dorms, students leave their doors open and hang out with others on the floor. The floor lounges are usually filled with people. One tradition that makes you closer to those in your dorm is Homecoming. Each dorm had to make a float for the annual Homecoming Parade. Mizzou is also right next to Downtown Columbia, which has so many interesting shops and restaurants. It is always fun to walk downtown and see what you encounter.

Starting answering!Student in the dorms do leave their doors open. There also is a lot of school spirit so the athletic events are always sold out. if im awake at 2am then im usually laying in bed watching tv on a tuesday night. it seems like people are always parting every night.

MSA is basically Mizzou's student council in charge of funneling a budget of $1,000,000. That goes to bringing speakers on campus, different events for all student groups which fall under MSA (most undergrad organizations), and setting up concerts. Getting involved in MSA is pretty easy and there's a spot in the different clubs for everyone.

Athletics are extremely popular at Mizzou. On game days the stands are packed out and if you're not at the game, you're watching the game with a group of friends elsewhere. Also, many of the students like to get involved in club sports and intramurals. It's a great way to stay active and make friends! Also, homecoming was founded at Mizzou so every year the celebration is huge. Alumni from all over come back to Columbia to take part in all traditions. With the town fully decorated, the whole community takes part in the parade and prepares for the big game. Greek life is huge at Mizzou and a lot of people really love being a part of fraternities and sororities. However, those that aren't Greek still have a blast.. The students here are like most college students-- ready to have a good time. On the weekends you'll find the bars and restaurants downtown flooded with friends.

The most popular teams on campus are the football and basketball teams. They rule the sports throughout school and get the most attendance every game. I'm involved in smaller things like student government and my hall newspaper. My dorm is rather new, and is built like a hotel and has private bathrooms. Many students within my hall do not have there doors open. Athletic events such as football and basketball are extremely popular throughout the entire school whether you enjoy sports or not. The dating scene is really cool, there are many opportunities to meet girls. My closet friends are my three roommates, but my other friends I met through class. Most tuesday nights at 2am I'm asleep because I have an early class the next morning. The big tradition that happens each year is homecoming. It's an event before one of the football games where the whole town and alumni really come together with the students and have a great time. People around here party a good amount, but it's entirely up to you if you want to or not. Frats and Sororities are important to some and nothing special to others. It depends how you view the entire greek lifestyle. Last weekend, I worked out a lot, played a good amount of basketball, swam in the lap pool, and hung out with some friends. There are many activities that do not involve alcohol on a saturday night. The rec is a good place to play some basketball with friends. Another activity is coming into downtown and getting some food at the many thriving local restaurants. I really don't do much off campus because I don't have a car here. Bu the only time I do is to go to Shakespeare Pizza or Buffalo Wild Wings to get some good food and get away from campus dining.

I would say that the most popular organizations on campus are the sororities and fraternities. A lot of students are involved in these but the majority are not. Other clubs and organizations put on a lot of events around campus but I couldn't really recall their names. I am involved with Magazine Club. This is a club for magazine journalism majors who want to improve their resume and start networking to find a job early. In the dorms, students typically do not leave their doors open but that does not mean that there are not people who do leave their's open. It's really hard to say. Athletic events are a MAJOR part of Mizzou. Football is the most popular sporting event, then basketball right behind it. These sports actually cost a lot of money for tickets. All other sporting events are free. Guest speakers are very common. They have had a lot already in the first semester and they are actually very prestigious and famous people who I have really enjoyed hearing and learning from. I met my best friend at the Midnight Barbecue at the very beginning of the year. She also lived across the hall from me, but the night of the barbecue is when we became close. Now she is my roommate and I'm sure a life long friend. At 2 am on a Tuesday, I'm usually awake. Usually I'm either studying, watching TV, or on the computer listening to music. As far as partying goes, there's a lot of it. There's a party pretty much any night you want to go to a party, weekend or weekday, it doesn't matter. There a lots of things you can do without drinking at Mizzou. You can go downtown to a club and just dance, or you can even go to a party and just meet people and dance without drinking. There's really never a dull moment and I can promise you, you won't be bored at Mizzou.
