I think UNH is prominently white students, but there are students of every other race as well. I dont think anyone would feel out of place at UNH because there is such a diverse group of people here. Everyone here can be themselves, wear what they want, and hangout with who they want. There is also people here from all different economic backgrounds. Noone seems to stand out... everyone jsut blends together.

The only gorpu I am in is Alpha Phi and I think it's such a great experience being part of the greek system. It gets you very involved with UNH as a whole and you feel like you belong somewhere.

I have never seen a serious problem with race on this campus everyone is usually very open. I dont think any student would feel out of place there are many different kinds of people here Most students are from NH maine or mass. I think most students are middle class to upper class. Yes students talk about how much they will earn one day.
Alex
Most students don't dress up for class, however some do and personally sometimes i feel as though those people are a little out of place. It seems like people just wear sweats to class, or jeans and a t-shirt. A lot of people will also wear an everyday outfit but nothing too nice.

I am friends with so many different types of people and I love that. Many students just roll out of bed in sweats to go to class. You don't ever need to dress up; I always just wear some comfy pants and a sweatshirt usually. If you had a presentation or something, then it would be appropriate to look nice. I don't think anyone could feel out of place because there are so many different people that they are bound to make friends with interests like their own. Maybe if someone really didn't like the idea of a big school they might feel out of place, but it really doesn't feel as huge as everyone makes it out to.

UNH does not have a lot of diversity. Mostly the students on campus are WASP's who are in the middle to upper class and from New England. Students are definitely politically aware on-campus because of the New Hampshire's primary. This year we had a lot of presidential candidates on campus including one of the republican debates.
Danielle
Most UNH students are from New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Not many students come from far away states or countries. I do not believe that there is much diversity on campus and most students are Caucasian and are from the middle/upper class.
Kelly
We are not a very diverse campus at all
Carson
UNH is extremely diverse and I think students are not afraid to join a group, club, or anything that supports anything they show interest in.
Brianna
Most students wear sweatpants and a sweatshirt to class, some people wear jeans and a tee-shirt or very casual clothing.
Jillian
I wish our school was a bit more diverse. Everyone is pretty much white middle-class New Englanders.
Stephanie
I really have not had any experiences with racial, religious, LGBT or socio-economic groups on campus. I don't really think that any type of student would feel out of place at UNH because I think it is large enough and offers enough for anyone to find their place and feel comfortable. Most of the UNH students are from New Hampshire and Massachusetts. I would say the most prevelant financial background would be middle class. I am graduating in May and I have very rarely heard people talking about how much they'll earn one day, as poor college students everyone is more just trying to have enough money right now.
Abby
Extremely diverse! UNH offers something for everyone, so anyone can find a club or student organization that offers activities that they are interested in. UNH students are very modest, for the most part, and don't flaunt the things that they have as compared to other students. There are a wide variety of students that attend UNH, so for the most part, people are very accepting of differences here due to the nature of our environment.

I don't have many experiences with racial, religious, LGBT or any of these groups on campus. I don't think that any kind of student would feel out of place at UNH, but that's just my own beliefs. I think different types of UNH students interact within their own circle of friends. Most UNH students are from NH and MA. I believe students are politically active but some could be more active. I have never heard students talk about how much they'll each one day - if they do I think it is slightly ridiculous.
Kate
Although UNH at first glance looks rather undiverse, the diversity is more visible in the smaller groups in UNH. If you look at diversity as more than just race you will see that the socioeconomic and ways people were raised is what is diverse.
Virginia
UNH is not racially diverse, but I think that anyone could find a place to fit in. There are all different kinds of people and clubs for people to join.
krista
i feel as though UNH is diverse, but could be more. There are groups for everyone out there which is helpful for people to find the right place for them and to figure out who they really are. A lot of students do not really care what they look like when they go out in public around campus, expeically to class. that is not necessarily a bad thing, however, if we all looked presentable when we left our houses/apartments/dorms, our school may get a little more reputable! students talk about how much they will make someday, but how much is in their bank account now, which is usually the bare minimum is what is usually talked about
Amanda
UNH is really not that diverse. Students tend to wear northfaces and uggs. Most students are from NH or Massachusetts. UNH has had a lot of political candidates that come by, so I would say that UNH is politically active.
Danielle
Like stated previously, there is a definite lack of diversity - however its definitely increasing. Most students are from New England.

Many of the students at UNH come from the same general area. Most are from NH and then there is a large chunk from MA. Almost all of the students are from the north east area. Students clothing varies from person to person. Many wear uggs or flip flops with jeans and a UNH a sweat shirt but I feel that with what most people in our generation wear.
