UNC Charlotte is a great place to grow into the person you've always wanted to become. While 25,000 students seems fairly large for a school, the campus and University as a whole never seems to feel too large but just right. UNC Charlotte is definitly NOT a small university yet the fact many students are commuters give the school a homey vibe. The best thing about this school is the millions of ways to get involved to feel as if you actuallty belong to a family. With so many organizations on campus it is impossible to not find something that fits into your intrests and hobbies. If there was ever anything I would change about this school it would be that we would have a football team; yet now that we have a set date for a football team in Spring of 2013 I wouldnt change a thing. While UNC Charlotte isn't seen to be one of the most prestegious schools in the North Carolina system is it a growing school with a beautiful campus that I feel one day soon will be competing with UNC and NC State. The town in which the University is located is just perfect; it is 10 miles or so away from the city so you aren't constantly batteling traffic yet if you want to experience the bright lights its only a short trip down the road. While the town isnt exactly a college town in the sense you can walk around to resturants, or stores, I defnitly think it is getting there and with the expansion of our campus everything will one day be a lot closer and easier to commute to on foot. I spend most of my time on campus in Greek Village and in the Student Union. Being in a sorority has definitly helped me feel more comfortable in my own skin and I have since then become apart of the Student Goverment Association. Our student union is the largest in the state and has so much to offer and is always crowded with students; its a really great place to grab lunch, study, or meet a friend for Starbucks. The school pride is definitly rising with the outlook of football in our future and while I am not the biggest on games I know football will help increase the school spirit tremendously.

One of the best things about UNCC is student life. I have been very involved on campus since my Freshman year of college. There's just so much to do on campus and students should really take advantage of these FREE events! I spend most of my time in the Student Union, Cone Center, and the library (students got to study too!). If I could change an aspect of UNCC, I would change the service received from the Office of Financial Aid. 4 out of 5 times, I have received bad student service due to inaccurate information, very delayed responses via email, and rude personnel. While I do realize that handling over 25,000 students' financial aid package is a rough job and it may get frustrating at times, UNCC should really consider hiring more personnel to make the process flow smoother. The same applies to the Office of Study Abroad.
