UNC Charlotte has an extremely beautiful campus with a variety of different majors and minors. They have one of the best housing for universities in North Carolina, they have their support systems and groups for any students who may need help academically, emotionally, etc. UNC Charlotte has a variety of different sports, clubs and activities to enjoy.

why being accepted at UNC Charlotte is important is the engineering department. After researching the school I discovered that their engineering department had a variety of programs, giving me multiple options to consider. I was intrigued by the Robotics program because I like to build things and I enjoy learning how things work. The second reason I would like to attend UNC Charlotte is the campus grounds, on-campus life, and the atmosphere of the surrounding area. It feels like a city in a city. It is a big campus but the beautiful green areas on campus add to the school's beauty and charm. The campus is also surrounded by businesses and eateries that would support campus life without going far. I was also able to attend a home football game. The atmosphere in the game was great and I enjoyed every second when I was there. I also discovered many clubs I could join, like Build Better Brothers, the 49ers German club, and the 49ers Racing IC. The last reason I have considered applying to UNC Charlotte is their commitment to their students' careers after school. I loved learning about their career fairs and connections to ensure graduates are provided options for employment. I want a great college experience, but my final goal is to acquire a job in my chosen field of study.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte has so many good things to offer its students. There is a great program for almost any degree you can think of, vast opportunities and options for students to choose from. If someone is unhappy with their major there are plenty of advisors who are ready and willing to help them find which major is the best fit for them.

rom the beginning, I wasn't entirely sure about UNCC because my initial preference was NC State. However, as I delved into the incredible benefits UNCC offers, my decision became increasingly difficult. The housing options at UNCC are fantastic and perfectly align with my need for personal space, especially the suite-style living arrangements, which I adore. My visit to the student admitted day was a turning point—it heightened my excitement for college life. The warmth and friendliness of everyone I met made me feel instantly at home. UNCC has created an environment that truly prioritizes student comfort and well-being. During my visit, I made new friends and discovered so many exciting opportunities that UNCC provides. The vibrant campus life, supportive community, and the abundant resources have fueled my passion and enthusiasm for becoming a part of the UNCC family.

Daniella

UNCC is an amazing school that provides every possible opportunity for its student and even more. Just a couple days ago I went to the student admitted day for UNCC , getting involved in all the tours and learning all the new information just made me want to go to this school even more. I was surprise at how many different things that are beneficial for students, for example I found out that students can rent out formal clothes is they don't have any. The campus is very neat, beautiful and the staff is so friendly, when I arrived to the campus I was lost of where to go and one t=of the workers was very kind to show me the way, despite the unfortunate situation that occurred with a passive aggressive individual. Anyways, the university is great and I can't wait till the year starts!!!!

Alexander

The school was decent. Most of the professors were good and cared about the students but their office hours were staffed by teacher assistants. The school itself is a commuter school so very few people are on campus after daytime class. The campus itself kind of turns into a mini ghost town. Socially it is very hard to make friends for this reason unless you join a fraternity or sorority. The school is in the middle of Charlotte so there are things to do around campus if you have the money.

Johnathan

If you are on the fence about going to college or haven't found a school, UNCC could be a good fit. The campus is beautiful and there are so many things to do and see on and off campus. The teachers and staff want you to succeed.

The university offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs across various disciplines, including business, engineering, health sciences, and liberal arts. The university is known for its commitment to research, and it has a diverse and vibrant campus community. UNC Charlotte plays a significant role in the economic and cultural development of the Charlotte region.

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a rapidly growing research institution location in the Northwestern section of Charlotte, known as University City. Charlotte has a gorgeous campus with almost an entirely new/renovated architecture that provides a wonderful environment for it's students. Charlotte has hundreds of clubs and organizations, making it almost impossible not to get involved. The campus is extremely safe, and also offers multiple activities for students as the campus is located just a few miles from Uptown Charlotte. The University provides a free light-rail system that takes students into multiple areas of the city, including Uptown Charlotte. Additionally, the University has an extensive bus system, which makes the large campus very accessible. Despite the use of the phrase "large campus", the campus is easily walkable and is not as sprawling such as one like NC State. UNC Charlotte has D1 athletic programs and will be moving to the larger American Conference for the 2023-24 school year. UNC Charlotte is a great university to go to and I would seriously recommend it!

Thomas

I have really enjoyed my time at UNC Charlotte. The school is not immune to stumps in the road, such as some apathetic faculty and dining that needs a little more pep. But overall the school is genuinely taking feedback and is trying to innovate and make the student experience as well as the city of Charlotte a better place. It is a really diverse place with students from various backgrounds, and although some faculty/students may not have as much pep, you can find/befriend etc people who do. School spirit is more apparent some days than others but is evolving because of different athletic news. Safety could be better but you can go without having trouble in and out of campus. New renovations and updates are adding to the experience of the school. The Charlotte area can provide good job opportunities in nearly every field.

Anthony

UNCC is a interesting place. Never have I felt unsafe, even at night or alone on weekends. The staff is more than friendly, just this Friday I saw faculty helping at the cafeteria to speed up the line. Some people who ordered could not hear their names in the back, so the staff came to alivate the line.

Jaleah

I love the University! I chose it as my first choice of schools to attend this Fall. I believe it is well suited for the degree and profession I am seeking and the cost is great as compared to other similar schools. I am excited to attend. My mom graduated from UNC Charlotte and I have an idea of how awesome the college experience will be because of the stories she has shared with me.

Kristina

University of North Carolina at Charlotte is a school that I would definitely recommend for other students to go to. This school is amazing with amazing opportunities for anyone. The campus is beautiful and everyone on campus is like a big family. This school prioritizes the academics of all students to make sure we all get the most out of our education.

Rachael

I attended UNCC during corona and I believe the school did a pretty good job at relaying information to students. There were a few classes I had that I believe could have done a better job with communication and or involvement but over all it was a decent experience.

Tahlieah

“I can do things you cannot. You can do things I cannot. Together we can do great things” - Mother Theresa. This quote is the epitome of UNC Charlotte. As a melting pot of so many different backgrounds and identities, UNC Charlotte thrives in its diversity. That is what makes the university so great. Although the school may seem large, it has a small neighborhood atmosphere. With over five hundred student organizations, there are plenty of opportunities for students to get involved and meet their peers. There is a place for everyone and if you feel like you cannot find a place, you can create your own. UNC Charlotte is also a community, something we do not take lightly and hold very dear to us. On April 30th, the campus of UNC Charlotte endured an extreme loss. Hundreds of students and I waited to enter the Last Day of Class concert, ready to close out a long academic year. No one had any idea that evening would go the way it did. Reed, Riley, Drew, Emily, Rami, Sean, were just like every one of us; they were students. We attended UNC Charlotte, enjoyed what the university had for us, planned our futures, and called ourselves Forty-Niners. The next day Niner Nation came together, to be there as one family, to care for one another, support one another, and to grieve together. It was awe-inspiring and breathtaking to see so many thousands of students, alumni, faculty, staff, and others in the Charlotte region unite in Halton Arena and the Star-Quad. Together we were resilient, standing firm in the stance that we would not be defined by this unfortunate event, but rather by our strength as a university. When you join Niner Nation you are joining a family. You are joining a community of people who are rooting for you, who want to see you succeed, and who would do anything to help get you there. Lastly, UNC Charlotte is adaptable. Through a national pandemic, UNC Charlotte has managed to keep a COVID-19 positivity rate of less than three percent on campus. The on-campus experience looks different, however, our Division of Student Affairs and other campus departments have been planning activities while prioritizing the health and safety of the campus community. The university abides by state and University limits on indoor and outdoor gatherings. Many spaces traditionally used for meeting rooms, events, and activities are being used for additional physically-distanced classrooms and capacity limits are lower in general. Although social gathers are not the same, there are still plenty of ways to get involved in campus life. Gold Rush, a series of activities that welcomes new and returning students to campus, features over 30 virtual events and many of our more than 500 student organizations will move to virtual or hybrid activities. Our University Recreation Gym, also known as UREC, which is one of our most popular spots on campus, is still offering a variety of outdoor and select indoor activities. While we cannot see the future, the university is still working on ways to keep students engaged. Our Chancellor, Sharon Gaber, and the rest of the university administration have done a great job interacting with the student body. As a member of the Student Government Association, I meet with the presidents across the entire UNC System and the relationship their administration has with their student body is nothing compared to what we have here at Charlotte. Whether it is a petition, email, or initiative, our university administration is doing all they can to have those conversations with students, to include them in decision making and plans they have. It’s one thing to go to a university, but it's another to have a voice at your university. I am proud to say that Charlotte provides that type of atmosphere for our students. From the diversity of the campus to the at-home feel, UNC Charlotte is by far one of the greatest universities a student can attend.

University of North Carolina at Charlotte FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at University of North Carolina at Charlotte?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of North Carolina at Charlotte is 62%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020, _____ students were offered admission.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

After making it to your senior year in high school with study skills that were almost nonexistent, it is definitely time to get serious. Next year will be a complete shock if study skills are not learned now while classes are still somewhat easy. Try the best you can and study harder than you ever have. It will be nice to graduate with the special honors that you can certainly receive. I know that you have said a million times "I am not as smart as they are" or "I do the best I can," but it isn't true. You have the ability to be just as smart as anyone else and make straight A's a reality rather than just a dream. Also, branch out from the group you are most comfortable with and make friends with those you haven't spoken to before. This can be the most important step in making the transition to college. You will meet many new people, whom are nothing like you in your future field, but be confident, accept everyone, and most importantly try to learn something from everyone you meet. Do not give up, and always strive for good grades!

The professors that teach the introductory computer science courses. They dont seem to know what it is they are talking about. They are often corrected by students and the textbooks that are assigned aren't much better. When a student asks a quiestion it is commonplace that the instructor gets easily frustrated if the student doesn't completely understand a specific topic after they answer their question. The school is known to have a high fail rate for the lower level courses because of this.

  16. What are the academics like at your school?

The academics at UNC Charlotte are challenging. However, it is doable. Most of your classes depend on your major or the selection of classes you choose to take each year. I'm not certain about other schools, but when you select classes you are able to see the capacity in the class. Therefore, if you learn better in a small environment where the professor knows everyone by name then you have that option to choose that class. Depending on the classes you need to take for your major, you will not always be able to choose small classes. Mainly your "into" or "general education requirements" will be your bigger class of 150 or more. Big classes at UNC Charlotte are not as overwhelming as you may think. There is still class participation through clickers and notecards. I am a Political Science and Criminal Justice major. Some of my classes are rather large, but the more I get into my major the smaller my classes get. How an individual perceives to take their education is up to them. Academics at UNC Charlotte is all about what you put in you will get out of. Therefore, good study habits, and going to class are essential. Students here are competitive. After college, many want jobs or to further their higher education. This means that each individual at UNC Charlotte has to work hard to get what they desire, but it all lies in the hands of the person.
