I wish I would have known how to study and take notes more effectively in college. There were classes that taught that in high school and I wish I would have taken advantage of that. Studying is a big part of college and I would tell myself that I need to give it my all.

I wish I had known about all the clubs that there are to join because I enjoy being super involved on campus.

Never be afraid to ask and answer questions. Awkward silence does not exist when you have the courage to answer the professor or guest expert. Get involved and hang with your friends. Only a fraction of the college experience is coursework, so take a break from the homework and get outside. Seize the day; take those small moments of downtime early in the day or between classes and get at least 30 minutes of work done. It adds up. Warning: try to stay off the computer. Get to know your professors; they actually enjoy human interaction and are pretty cool.

That you will make more friends then just your roommate! My roommate and I didn't get along at firt, and that made me second guess if I wanted to continue my education there, but I joined a sorority, and made so many different friends in Alpha Chi Omega, and outside of the sorority. Without Alpha Chi Omega or my other friends, I don't know if I would be going to UND again this fall.

If you want to do well here at UND I would recommend to myself before I came here to participate early with the plethora of clubs and social events the university stages in order to bring the student body together. Joining the clubs here will bring you together with students of like interests and personalities. Interacting better with students within your own area of study helps both personally and academically. The school works very hard in order to set up friday night and weekend events to keep the students safely entertained without resorting to less desirable entertainment on their own.

I wish I had known that going Greek at a university isn't all the stereotypes make it out to be. Being Greek is the best thing that I ever did at this university and I don't regret it for a minute. Also, don't let the drinking stereotype get you down, there are plenty of other things that this college is great at including going Greek, sports, and excelling academically.

How expensive it is to live.

I wish I would've known the distance from the dorms to classrooms! Especially in North Dakota! It was freezing and the walk was very long! I also wish I would've been prepared more for freshman life. There was so much peer pressure to do things that were outside of my comfort zone. The drinking was huge! It seemed there was always a party somewhere and binge drinking was always occuring. It was scared to me how intoxicated and vulnerable individuals would get!

I wish that I had a better idea on what to expect for the roommate experience. I went into it not knowing what I was doing, what I needed to do to make it all work, and unsure what was going to happen. I was happy with how it all turned out, but I was just scared right away of what was going to happen.

I wish I had known how stict college professors can be, also I wish that I could have known about how much harder I have to study, because the professors mainly grade tests only instead of regular homework.
