What are the most popular student activities/groups?

The night life kinda sucks, Fry street is dwindleing and dieing, and downtown is ok. 288 is to far away to walk, and driving is a nightmare. Parties are on thursdays, no one is around on weekends. IHOP at 2 am is fun, but Taco C is where to go.

Im involved with the Volunteer League and the Volunteer Center. I think students leave their dorms because they are encouraged and for free stuff and free food. UNT football is not exciting, but basketball is. I am not a party person but my roommates party at least 3 times a week. I watch movies and hang out with friends instead of drink on a Sat. night.

The business fraternity is the one of the most popular organizations on campus...oh, and Student Government Association.

Greek Life is just about non-existant here.

UNT has a ton of sororities, fraternities, honor societies, social clubs, athletics...the list could go on forever. I personally love playing intramural sports, it keeps my busy year round. I met my closest friends by living in the dorms. My best friends now are people I met either my freshman year or by being an RA in the years after. It's great, I love meeting people! Homecoming is a huge tradition each year. There is an event called Yell Like Hell that dorms or other groups on campus participate in. They create a dance or skit and perform it on a night before homecoming when we have our annual bonfire. The ultimate goal is the Eagle Claw award, that goes to the best all-around dorm. People party pretty often. It's not necessarily a bad thing as long as you keep up with your work during the week!!! Last weekend I hung out with some friends and had a girl's night! I ended up going home for a day, too. I find that since I've moved out of the house and come to college, I've become even closer with my family!!! I love them but I guess it's easier to live away from them!

Okay, I’m not going to lie…UNT students like to drink and have fun! Partying is a well-accepted pastime of UNT students. Visiting the bars on Fry Street or in Downtown Denton is the best way to get out there and get away from the stresses of your schoolwork. Bars are open all week and are always running specials on drinks and events. It’s fairly simple to find a private house party, just make sure you know a lot of people. Fraternities will occasionally throw a party, but it is very seldom being that administrators are cracking down on drinking on campus. As a student, you can always participate in intramurals, it’s a fun way to connect with your friends and it’s a good workout! It’s not all about wild parties though. If parties aren’t your scene, there are lots of movie theatres, eateries, bowling, and not to mention shopping that you can do!

Housing is the most popular group on campus in my life. UNT housing is responsible for 6,000 students, more than any other groups/ organization/ clubs/ and teams. I am involved in the SWSA, RLAC, RHA, National Resident Hall Honorary, Sigma Phi, Gerontologic Student Association. For the most part, students do not leave their doors open, unless it is hot in their room. My favorite thing to do on a Saturday nigth is to go to the Denton square and hang out, eat some pizza and ice cream. Yum!
