University of North Texas Top Questions

What do you consider the worst thing about University of North Texas? Why?

Lacey

I believe the worst thing about my school is the size of core classes. There are a lot of people in classes that we must pass in order to graduate on time and it makes it mor challenging to concentrate when there are so many people around you.

Jessica

The worst thing about my school would have to be parking. There is never enough parking spaces for those who commute or those who live on campus. It is always a chance if you leave to get a good spot when you get back.

Adrian

You feel like just a number there. Nobody cares whether you succeed in your classes or not. All they care about is whether you've paid your tuition or not.

Ashley

The worst thing about my school is the lack of night classes. Since i work 2:30 - 6:30 if i can't find the class i need in the morning i can't take my class that semester.

Monica

The financial aid office. They say they are there to help but when you go to get help they do not want to help you.

Ro'Derica

The worst thing about my school is that there isn't enough financial aid being given to students because the financial aid department determines if a student is eligible based on incom on your tax return. The problem is they assume the studen't parents can afford the tuition when they really can't so the student has to apply for scholarships and other resources to pay for college.

Stephanie

I think that the worst thing about my school is the financial aid that is available. There is no one here that has really helped me or has wanted to help me. I pretty much have just looked online for all the things I need to find out. Other than that the school is great and the teachers are really helpful. Everyone here is really nice too.

Petite

Well, there's not much security in most dorms, I feel that the issue should be improved.

Ryan

The worst thing is probably the city it's in, the town is very boring and there isn't much to do, the closest big cities are around 30 to 40 minutes away.

Kelsey

The lack of support for athletics. Many people don't come out to the football games because the team was struggling. In truth the only way for that to change is if the coaching staff can improve the program in the coming years.

Jonathan

it is a commuter school

Heather

In my opinion the worst thing about m school is the lack of campus activities and spirtit. There does not seem to be much emphasis on getting students involved with campus activites or groups. There are fraternities and sorieties; they claim that there are other groups as well but it is hard to find them and if you do, it is hard to get involved in them.

Charilyne

The one thing I dislike at my school is its false hopes for our consistently underachieving football team. Last year, UNT students were asked to vote on a new stadium for their use, although the one we already have is perfectly fine. It was a close vote, but the majority voted yes and now UNT has instated a new tuition increase beginning in Fall 2011 to help pay for it, as well as taking money from other programs. As a school that prides itself on going green, I doubt they're talking about helping the environment.

Lynn

like any other school: bureaucratic run-around in regards to fulfilling requirements, meeting dead-lines, etc.

Geoffrey

Physical locattion- it floods

Billie

the variety of food choices in the union is not that great; there is a routine selection of food...and it never changes!

KaTrina

The worst thing about my school is that with so many college students in one area, it can be sometimes difficult to find a job in this small town.

Houston

The worst thing about my school is the pressure to do well and the stress that comes with time management.

Chelsey

The worst thing about our school i s our athletics. DO NOT COME HERE if you are looking for a spirited school. We're more artsy here.

Sarah

A lot of people commute to UNT so it is more difficult to make friends than it would be at some other schools. Also it is harder to form a study group when people live all over.
