i think a college education is important today. There are many benefits to get quality education. One of them deals with your intellect. Being smarter, or having acquired and retained more knowledge than the average person, puts you way ahead of others on an everyday level. Not only will you benefit intellectually, but more than likely financially also. You can now support your desired lifestyle for yourself and your family.

I have realized that I need to attain a bachelor's degree in order to advance in the real world. In fact, some agencies are requiring a master's degree as well. I have learned that professors with real world experience are more inclined to be better teachers than those who are more focused in the academia aspect of the teaching field. You do attain more knowledge at a four year university and you learn that things are not as easy as most people make them out to be.

I've learned many things at UNT. I got my first job there and when you get a on campus job they are very understanding on how they know you are there for school first. With college and my job I've learned, basically, how to be an adult. Living on my own for the first time is a good example. The residence halls are good too. This is a great college because even though they are know for great grades, it is really mellow.

What i have gotten out of college is a wonderful and new experience. There were many challenges that I faced when first I came to college. Challenges such as making my own class schedule, finding a job on campus, socializing with new people, and trying to stay focused on class work. I can admit it was a power struggle because I was not use to the college life of staying up late studying and being social. I do believe it has been valuable to attend college because i have grown into a resposible person. I am able to time manage my study habits and I have learned how to say 'NO' to friends that want to party, when I have work to do. I continue to stay on track with time management skills because without it I will fail and be out of college. Therefore, I think college is a great experience for all individuals who want to broaden their horizon and further their education!

When I was younger, I never thought I'd go to college. Not because I didn't want to, but because I thought we couldn't afford it. My Mom left my Dad,brother, and I and I never heard from her again. My Dad instantly had to be the Mom and the Dad, and paying for 2 kids the same age was tough. I prayed for God to help me, and he blessed my brother and I with being able to go to college. College has taught me to be mature and responsible, and I've found the person I truly am. College teaches me to cherish every moment I have there, and makes me excited to know that I will be successful in life. It gives me more confidence than I've ever had, and college will reward me in the future with a successful job and money to raise my family and never leave them. College has made me the confident, responsible, happy person that I am today and wouldn't want it any other way.

Above and beyond the history and math lessons, college has taught me a great deal about myself. With self-insight comes two options: to either turn away in denial or to face up to where you stand and make a conscious effort to become your ideal self. Having moved 900 miles from home and every familiar face I knew, I had little choice. College has made me realize that I have more control over my life than had ever previously occurred to me. At first I abused it, sleeping in, skipping class, eating junk food. And I quickly failed. Within months I had the epiphany that I am writing about now, and everything turned around. College revealed to me that my greatest goal in life is more than career success, financial gain, or a happy marriage. My aspiration is to be someone I would admire, not just now, but timelessly. This is not a dream like it might have been in middle school or high school, to be popular or funny or to provoke envy. This is a dream to be the person I never thought I would be, I never thought I was, but who I soon will become.

My college experience has really taught me how to make friends and how to cooperate with people that do not neccesarily share the same views in life. I have also learned to be more open-minded about certain topics. Of course I have gained knowledge and understanding from many of the classes I have taken. It has been valuable to attend, not only for the teacher certification i strive for, but for the friends and people that I have met here that have helped me grow as a person.

My college experience so far has been very eye opening. I realize now the things that need to change about me as well as the reality of the difficulties that I'm facing. I'll likely never be a world renowned artist, and will more than likely have to settle for a life of comfortable obscurity. I don't mind this though. College has shown me that I have a lot of growing up to do, and that just because I understand the world around me and how it works, doesn't mean that I'm mature enough to just jump into it and handle it the way I've handled my life until now. It takes a lot of dedication and hard work to achieve your dreams, and in this world, only those willing to sacrifice and struggle truly have a chance at "making it". I've breezed through school my whole life, never really having to try hard at anything. After my first year in college, I realize that things aren't ever going to be that easy again, and if I expect to do something with my life I have to put forth the effort.

I believe that my college experience presented me with the best and worst of what life has and i am glad that i know that i should never give up and fight to the end. My college experience taught me to be the best i can be and that there are always people there for you if you let them be. I learned that there is a time for everything. There is time to study, relax, party, and have fun. I interacted with people of different background and ethnicity from me. I meet incredible staff members that made my college experience one of the best. The staff member cared and had advice and a ear to lend when needed. I really enjoyed my college experience at the University of North Texas.

I have great professors who are genuinely helpful and classmates that have become lifelong friends. College has been alot of hard, rewarding work. I have learned how to study like a professional. I look forward to putting the tools I have gained from this school into good use in the workforce. I am planning on going through graduate school, something I never thought I would want to do. My professors have inspired me to want to learn all that I can to be better equipped for the working world and life.
