The fact that most people in the DFW area don't realize what a great school it is. UNT is often considered a "safety school" by many, which undermines it's true accreditations.

The most frustrating thing for me is all the technical difficulties I have with the school website.
Tracy
There is very limited space in some of the technical writing courses. Also, some of these courses are not available every semester.
Isabel
There were many hippies.
Rebekka
Getting clear answers from advisors.

The most frustrating thing about my school is having large classes. I feel that when having a large classroom the professor can't connect well with his/her students. A professor should want to connect with his/her students to some significant level even though they may have a large amount of students. It's easier when the professor knows how the students work, participate, what kind of level they are on acadimically and how they learn. If the classroom size was smaller then everyone can feel the attention instead of feeling like the professor is teaching to the choir.

While I myself did not have any issues come up, a common complaint amongst other students was this: the housing fills up quickly. And the housing department is not the most accessible. Protip: complete your housing application EARLY! I filled mine out in January and was set up with my roommate and my dorm with no problems at all.

One of the most frustrating things about UNT is that sometimes professors say that certain books are required, yet they aren't used at all. This wouldn't be so bad, except for the fact that buying books burns the biggest hole in your pocket. What I like to do is save up money and ride the first week out in order to see if we will truly use the book or not. 9 out of 10 times this works. However, there are cases when the book is used at the beginning of the semester and never looked at again.

I have found the most frustrating thing is how unhelpful the financial aid department is. they have been rude and not helpful on several occasions.

Classes that are primarily TAMS students should be reserved for TAMS students and not open to undergraduate college students. It was very frustrating being in classes that were 90{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} 16-year-olds when I thought I was at college and not high school.

the most frustrating thing about my school is that the buildings are really far away. it takes 10 minutes to go from one building to another. and parking i sreally hard to find.
Abigail
The most frustrating thing for students at UNT is parking issues and our terrible football team. Many students that live off-campus have trouble finding parking spots, but luckily the bus routes are good about going to the major apartment complexes around town. Also, the Mean Green football team is very good at losing games, but hopefully we will turn things around. That wouls definitely boost our school spirit.
Carolyn
The most fustrating thing about my school is the lack of "One Way" street signs on a one way street.
Amanda
The most frustrating thing about my school are the dorms. I did not like the dorm I stayed in last year because the housing and maintenance staff does not do a good job fixing problems or addressing concerns.

I am going to the school in Fall 2010. Therfore I have no comments on this subject.

Coming from a small high school, it was a little bit of a shock to attend a larger school. When I didn't get involved in activities on campus, I was frustrated more with myself for missing out on the social experience in college. But once you get out there you learn everyone is just as intimidated to step out of their comfort zone as you are. Being a part of the community and school is completey worth it.

Some of the teachers are not quite up to par for being at a four year university. The class schedules are also hard to manage between working and maintaining enough credit hours.
Louis
The most frustrating thing about my school is the expesense, but I do have to give into consideration that I want a better life and in order to learn what I need it is going to cost, but the outcome is worth the fight!
Avery
The most frustrating thing at my school is buying textbooks. It is better to wait until the first day of class to buy books so then the teacher can inform everyone of what they need exactly. Except most times when you do wait to order your books half of them end up on back order making it impossible to finish assigned readings. The UNT bookstore needs to find a more organized way to make sure that every student will have the books they need available to them so they can do the best possible in their classes.

The most frustrating thing about my school was the parking and on campus lighting. For as much as we were paying to attend the university we should have had adequate parking and lighting. Being a female, at night I did not feel safe walking to classes. Therefore I was very limited in the classes I was able to take. The violence rate on campus had dramatically increased since my attendance. I believe this should be an issue the school board needs to address as soon as possible.
