The University of Vermont is very accepting of a variety of students. Many of the students here are very liberal-minded and open to new things. The only advice I would give would be that if you dont like cold weather, than this is not the school for you! Students here are very into being outdoors, especially skiing and snowboarding. I think any student would be able to find something they like at the University of Vermont.

There isn't a type of person who shouldn't attend UVM. UVM is a very open minded and welcoming community to students from all over the world and from diverse political, social, and sexual orientations.

I think someone who is very competitive would have trouble in this school. A lot of the programs seem to be very self oriented. I also think that someone who is self conscious about themselves would have a hard time. Speaking as someone who isn't tiny and model like, I can recognize that we have a campus filled with "pretty people" and a lot of emphasis is put on that.

Kirsten

Someone who doesn't like to be outdoors and enjoy the weather

If you're into the fast-paced city life, the University of Vermont is not for you. This school is extremely progressive-liberal with students and professors accepting of everyone. It is very laid back but just as equally demanding. Burlington is the heart of Vermont and the state?s largest city of just over 39,000 people; that's right...it's a city. There are lots to do if you love the outdoors, but if you're into skyscrapers and big city life, you may want to look a few hundred miles south in Boston.
